Again... cunto... that's a 9 year old boy you're talking about. Try to remember what it was like being that age. Now, take a thousand-mile step back from that where there is no mention of the Blades in the media, no other kids in school to discuss them with. If you can't do that, then you have no place giving it the BiggerBladeCockblock in this thread. Congratulations on proving yourself a bigger fan than my son. I'll be sure to tell him - I'm sure he'll react as if I'd just explain Nernst's Theorem.
Bellend - grow up... also grow a pair of bollocks and raise your son the right way. You will be one of these cockwombles that let their offspring support pigs.
When I was a pup and knee high to a grasshopper, I supported United because my Dad did. I couldn't care less who anyone else supported at school, United are my old man's team, and now they are mine (and now my young uns).
I spent a lot of time talking about United with him and reliving Uniteds cup winning games in the back garden with him, and that was enough for me. We shared a deep interest and passion in something. My old man impressed on me the importance of supporting the Blades since before I can remember. I still thank him for that to this day as I wouldn't have it any other way.
Cunto? Wow. You win the internet for the day. Congratulations.
I was actually talking about you and your support rather than your failure as a parent to keep your kid interested, but hey ho, you seem determined to bang that drum.
Stop coming onto an Internet forum looking for sympathy and then blaming the club for your struggle to keep your kid interested.
The club gets some stick at times but Christ, you’re stretching it. If you want sympathy, venture over to mumsnet or some other whinge-fest.
You think your kid is the only one that’s ever been to a school where United were never in the media? Where everyone else supported another team? Where that other team resides in South Barnsley because they were doing better than us and in the premiership? Or the alternative of Leeds because they were in Europe? He isn’t.
It is the support of a family of Blades that keeps him on the right path, it is interaction with the club that keeps the interest.
Though if your reaction of dropping the club like a hot potato and/or whinging about it to anyone and everyone is anything to go by, then no wonder his interest wains.
But going back to my original post, your minuscule contribution to the running of the club is insignificant and money won’t be missed.
Harsh......
....but fair.
It is irrevocably etched into my brain going back to school in January 1980. After the Boxing Day disaster, all the DirtyLeeds mongs and other part timers, suddenly had new Wendy scarves and even few Blades gave up on us. The lads I still go with now, all stuck with it and wore their colours with pride.
It's quite simple. If you want to be a proper fan (i.e 'fanatic') of any club, you have to take the rough with the smooth. Okay we've had plenty of rough, but that's just tough shit.
You can come back on here and admit you overeacted and get a bit of a ribbing, or you can leave the toys out on the floor.
Your call, but you know what the 'right thing' is if you want you 9 year old to understand about loyalty, endurance and character.
Big well done and thank you to The Blades for saving me a lot of money his summer. With Brooks leaving and the home strip debacle, I’m going to be saving a fortune not paying for iFollow or a shirt for my lad, as he has now lost interest.
Which secondary did you go to?I started supporting United in 1989 (I was 10) so for the first 7 months or so it was just amazing especially after Leicester and Wednesday going down. United fans were outnumbered at the time at my school - Hallam Primary (posh side I know) and it was glorious that summer! But then as we all know we were the laughing stock, couldn't win a game for love nor money, Wednesday were riding high in the Second Division and likely to bounce straight back. It could have being a time where as a young fan that I could have lost interest or worse still swapped to them lot like some lads do at that age but it didn't even cross my mind and rightly shouldn't. I was hooked and I remember my parents couldn't understand it (not being to a game at that point - no one would take me) they both hated football.
I know your young lad won't understand the best players leaving but its probably best to let him learn the lesson early and if you take him to a game again and hopefully we win I reckon he'll chose another player favourite player and the window will have just closed by then!
Which secondary did you go to?
My dog has just given up on the club after the Brooks sale. Initially he was pleased because he thought he was signing for Bonemouth.
Now he thinks Flecks going to Biteon.
Worst weekend of his life.

Got promoted to PL by a shit manager and everyone was delighted when he left.I've been in a coma since July 3rd 2018 and have come round today. Can anyone fill me in on what's happened since this thread kicked off?

You've certainly mellowed with age, Rodz. Can't imagine you being this argumentative these days.

Well, let's see. There was nothing then this nothing exploded in a big bang. Then the earth cooled. And then the dinosaurs came, but they got too big and fat, so they all died and they turned into oil.I've been in a coma since July 3rd 2018 and have come round today. Surely he’s retired to a lovely coastal villa somewhere in Spain with the “fortune” he’s saved by not paying for ifollow and buying a footy shirt. So TarquinDelouche junior, will be 13/14 now. I wonder if he ever came to terms with the Brooke’s sale? I wonder if he‘s still never been to Bramall Lane? Did all the Delouche family turn their collective backs on the club? If so, are they still in exile, or were they back in time to see the promotion season?
So many questions, it’s the not knowing that hurts![]()
I know people that I've tried to get on the service I use, that don't live in Sheffield and attend games. One of the reasons they give for using iFollow is that they want to put some money into the club.I follow? Do people really pay for this when u can use an over the top streaming service and get every game and movie channel for less money a month
That would explain Stegosaurus’ short stay on the forum!Well, let's see. There was nothing then this nothing exploded in a big bang. Then the earth cooled. And then the dinosaurs came, but they got too big and fat, so they all died and they turned into oil.
