Hid dad died the summer before he bought United. I don't think his dad had anything to do with Politics, he was a cleric.

The new King, Salman, is his Uncle.

And the next King after him, Crown Prince Muqrin, is also an Uncle.
 
No 'Our' Princes dad died in 2013.

The guy who died today/yesterday was the Prince's granddad.

Random fact Our prince's brother killed one of the King's in the 1970's!!

His father was half-brother to the late and the current king, but i'd imagine he wasn't an especially popular brother since his son Faisal (And our princes brother) assassinated the King (and his own uncle) in 1975.

It was actually a half-brother to your Prince that killed King Faisal at a family event.. at a guess because he blamed the King´s wish to make the country more modern for the riots that had killed his brother some years earlier.. The wahabites saw television as a bringer of corruption and caused a lot of unrest

It made the father of your Prince a bit of a recluse, a bit awkward to attend family dinners etc.
It´s also why your Prince had to more or less make his own fortune and never was able to inherit a fortune. But your Prince is well connected to the powerful Prince Mutaib thru their kids marriage so there are serious money within the family anyway.

Nice to know from MCFC.

At least you lot have risen from the ashes like we will . Bit of a dark horse our Mr Prince . Politic and religion hopefully wont stop us moving forward . We have had a barrow full of this to last a life time at SUFC.
