Is that Geary as our best ever left back?

2964-21.jpg

We've not had that many players represent England but Graham Shaw played 5 times.

How on earth is he not our best left back ?

Dearie me.
Add Len Badger , Joe Shaw , Mick Jones , Alan Birchenall , KE . Don't think I'd buy one of them shirts even to sleep in . All about age and opinions I suppose. Brings a smile and good memories within the shit we are all in at the moment supporting the Blades and the players we have today.

Our best ever left back? Before my time but Shaw and Hemsley must be up there?

Probably our worst position in my living memory (since about 85) - Best I've seen is probably Roger Nilson or John Harley in his first spell.

I have very fond memories of Geary, but this is taking the piss. As is the selection of Walker at Right back.
Was about to comment the same about Kyle Walker. Great player, but sold far too soon to even be considered for a best ever team.

I'd have jags as right back...

Agree with all that, though I liked Armstrong at left back as well.

Seriously, If this is official club merchandise someone wants sacking.

Our history stretches back to 1889 during which we had one of the best teams in England, won the title and runners teice, four FA Cups and six finals.

No, Greary isn't one of our best ever players.

Who put the list together, some kid with a Saturday job at the lane who had a quick look around the shop for names.and came up with that lot?

Embarrassingly laughable.

Laughable list.

Joe Shaw. Doc Pace, Mick Jones, Keith Edwards, Colin Morris, Billy Gillespie... all, those would challenge names on there.

All of the players on the shirt will have been seen by some people alive today. It's that that is relevant rather than the historical accuracy that saddoes like us think is important.

Is this an official shirt? I wouldn't put it past us to put out this piece of shit

So that would be the greatest Blades "in living memory" - not "ever". I pity the poor sods who only started going in 2012 in that case- that would be more like the Sheffield United Greatest Jailbirds and Useless Feckers Ever.

One of the reasons I want to try and get as much old footage of the club circulated as I can is to let young un's know that Sheffield United wasn't always about useless tossers who couldn't give a shit taking the piss out of you.

I admire your personal issue here.

Sadly, the whole of football has moved on from when we were nippers.

Wayne Rooney on £250K per WEEK !!!! FIFA corruption? People like Sir Dave (twat) Richards in and around the FA, Trevor Brooking et al.........

Football has gone to the dogs..........but keep up the good work - you can but try.

I'm a sucker for a lost cause.

I'm a sucker for a lost cause.

As before, you can but try.
We might be presently lost, but there is always a way back.
The ever optimist that I am thinks Adkins will start the long road, I just hope he gets the time.

As for the past.....P 10, W8, D2, L0 - top of the league, off to Man U to see Georgie score one of the best goals ever...........happy days.
