It seems an appropriate thread to mention that the England U21s will take on Scotland At bramall lane.

So that's a 3rd tier side scooping a game like this

Sorry to have to piss on your bonfire, but since they knocked the floodlights down you can't see them.
Sorry 2.T.B. meant from a historical context , like wooden seats in John st stand , waiting in Ladys bridge boozer for dad to stop suppin with his irish mates , new south stand is still south stand no matter who buys naming right's , Yorkshire t.v's subbueto tv gantry on 3 sided ground , in my minds eye them floodlights will always be there just like Laver on shirts. But accept point your making . Would have replied early only back from Holidays as always. U.T.B.

Trust me it is worth a fortune I worked very close to Bramall lane for two different companies both are gone now replaced by student accommodation, only The Sportsman survived the property developers. The area may well increase in value when the new markets are up and running down the Moor.

Valuable for what?

It would be prime for food retail but unless something has changed in the last month or two, none of the big'uns are even remotely interested in Sheffield City Centre.

Move the pitch closer to the main stand, paint the steelwork red and it would look great, that would keep most of the League One crowd under cover while we build new stands on the other three sides. Enough room to hold 60,000 eventually.

I remember Bassett saying only a merger of our two clubs could solve the Sheffield football crisis...I strongly strongly strongly disagreed. However, I wasn't ever against a ground share situation if it meant one well developed stadium, the Lane would be worth a bomb and have cleared United's bank worries...but come on...60.000? Really?

ahem...Highest Attendance: 68,287 v Leeds United, FA Cup 5th Round, 15 February 1936...but I don't think London Orient will be bringing as many as our friendly neighbours...so mebbe not the need currently...
