Right now I can't see much hope, but it is really that bad?

Will we get a new manager who gets rid of a load of deadwood, then
signs 4 or 5 players and we challenge at the top again.
Can it happen? On the face of it, outsiders would say of course it can. We're one of the biggest clubs in the division. But i have less confidence in our board (not just McCabe anymore, the whole bally lot of em) than i have of me winning the lottery jackpot and landing a date with Scarlett Johansson on the same Saturday.

Are some of us just too used to failure to see optimism, or is the doom and gloom accurate and we're just sinking towards the lower end of the table with no leadership or direction?

'ant tha seen weirdo coming down street

Being 'one of the biggest clubs in the division' counts for almost naught if we don't have the playing budget to match. And by all accounts we won't

Its been covered previously but 20 players on 2K/week is only £2.08M so we should be competitive and we have the best [? not sure about Wolves] academy in the league to dip into.

Good opportunity for Weir.

But the problem is that no-one wants to buy our deadwood. Who would want to buy Doyle, Collins, Hill and Porter? Who ever the newmanager is, they will still have to play these four during the next season.

Not if we pick up four frees.

They can then rot in the reserves until they are fed up and leave for an undisclosed

At the end of the day the squad from last season finished in a play off position, lose Doyle and probably Porter, I think Hill is a decent squad player Kitson has gone and replace them with young hungry players with some pace with hopefully Miller back from injury around October time and it might not be that bad although I think the division will be stronger next season

No its not misplaced , its in good hands , the regulars who only see a glass half empty are lapping it up , its their time , they are in their element , predicting the conference in 2 years , relegation to division 2 , nothing but gloom , they are in their own form of heaven , do whaty I do , let them get on with it , they are as happy as larry
For god sakes dont offer any thing optimistic to them or they start calling you a clapper or worse

Not in element at all, just used to blades letting us down! Harris begged em not to sell jones, tudor etc years ago and it,s same old same old! But still a Blade!

I think Weir all (almost) clapping to the same rhythm just at the moment, aren't we?

There is massive goodwill from all blades if we start making the right decisions on appointments etc. I can only speak for myself but i am happy to jump on the nearest clapper bus if Weir joins us. One good decision wipes out years of bad ones. So no at the moment I don't think we are being overly negative, because once we start doing the right things everyone will be on message. It's justbeen so long since we made good decisions.

Last season gave us the worst United team I've ever seen. Next season Weir has to turn them into winners while cutting the budget? Hmmm...

Optimism is fine, but realism is the order of day.

My point exactly. I'm relatively excited by Weir and I'm looking forward to seeing how he does. But I just can't see us getting together a squad that's going to be competitive at the top of the table.
