Is something amiss with Burke

Might be going off on a tangent here, or overthinking stuff but I'm getting the impression from his media work and body language that Burke is a player who looks like at the minute has got the weight of all the world on his shoulders.

He had a couple of big money moves, moved abroad as a teenager in a massive move to RB Leipzig that didn't work, and the move back to England with WBA hasn't worked for him either, and neither has the loan moves.

I'm getting the impression that both from what I've seen so far and from tonights performance that he looks to be lacking confidence at the minute

Anyone else been thinking this?
yeah he went to the wrong hairdressers when they re-opened so I can see where the problem is with him....

How did Burke play tonight from those that watched the game? I didn't listen to much commentary of the match either as was out but from what I did hear Keith Edwards suggested he looked lively.

Did a lot of pressing and looked a lot more dangerous doing it than any of the other strikers. Clearly has a turn of pace as well.

Did nothing really when we had the ball though. Looked technically good but not really involved in anything. Didn't really look like a striker, which he isn't really.

As robbiez666 says above he looked really quick when pressing but I don't think he actually did anything useful apart from run really fast towards their players and just miss the ball when they passed it to someone else. I like to see us pressing so it was a positive but I'm hoping it was just a bit of match fitness for him and he can bring some other elements to our game once he gets going. Michael O'Halloran and Andy Campbell were fast but they were also shit at football so I hope he's not the same.

So harsh, he literally played 60 minutes following a limited pre season. Joining a team that plays completely different to anything he’s experienced before.

He is under pressure, but Fleck, O’Connell, Egan, Lundstrum, Baldock, Stevens and Duffy didn’t look great at their respective starts to United life.

Pace and work rate to make defenders shit themselves. Wriggled out of a couple of tricky situations. But no clear attacking opportunities to really judge him properly. 👍

His closing speed is something scary. The Burnley defenders and keeper thought they had more time on the ball then suddenly Burke appeared out of nowhere. 😂

I'd say he offered more in his 60mins last night than Sharp or McBurnie have offered in their 90 + 30 mins so far

You wouldn't have heard much commentary anyway booker. Just some ex footballer jibbering nonsense. Truly fucking awful and time they found better than him. "I want to see" bla bla bla. . I wanted to feel like I was listening to football commentary but may as well have been in some grubby Weatherspoons listening to two senile escapees fron a care home. He is utter dogshit imho.😊

He did’nt get the opportunity to do much but what he did impressed me,good tight control and a good turn of pace.

Interestingly (or not) at the other end, Chesterfield Road doesn’t start until after the New India Garden, making the Red Lion and the White Lion both London Road pubs. 🤔
Both Red & White Lion's are top of Heeley Bottom

Played ok, made a great run down the right to the touchline and pulled a great ball across the 6 yd box for anybody to tap in, sadly as per nobody to finish.

Only negative I have with Burke is Wilder deciding his nickname is 'Burkey', Took me too long to realise that he hadn't just not realised the 'e' is silent.

Thing I've noticed about him is he hasn't got a great shot on him, this shouldn't be a problem with the way United play and the rest of his game seems ok. If he knows his limitations (and I'm sure the boss will let him know) he will be a real asset.

He’s a jock

Woodseats ends at Abbey Lane.

Morrisons is Meadowhead.

FACT.

🤣
Having grown up on woodseats I confirm this to be 100% accurate. Woodseats starts after homebase and ends at abbey lane. You could even argue Woodseats starts at Scarsdale Road if you are coming up Chesterfield Road

The lad just needs a bit of love and to feel part of a proper team environment. Let’s be honest, almost every member of our squad has had something to prove at sometime or another.

While we're on the subject why the fuckity fuck have Lidl decided their Meersbrook store is at Woodseats?
Who won the bloody war anyway?

Burke is not a striker , he's a winger who's played RWB for the last year.
I don't know what CW plan is , but maybe all will be revealed.
Our current set of strikers will not score enough to keep us up.
The close season priority was to improve the strikers in our first 11.
It ain't happened.
Of the 2 old blokes , one's got injury prone & one's got even slower.
Moose is injured + will take even longer to get up to speed than most.
We have one striker who might be effective at this level but when he plays we try to boot it up to him as a target man which he isnt.
Our strike force carries very little goal threat.
All our PL rivals know it and are bound to play hardball if we try to get a striker off them.
Hopefully we will get a load of 0-0 games.

He was traumatised as a child his parents went for a coffee leaving him in the ball pit at a retail centre.
