Is Norwood good enough?

I'm obviously in the minority that thinks he may struggle.

Norwood is prone to having a stinker 1 in every 4, or 5 games. I would think this will increase going a level up & then you're left with a player, in one of the most important areas of the pitch, playing poorly almost half the time.

His dead balls are excellent and when he has time and space generally he can spray some lovely passes right and left. But when he isn't given time he struggles to take himself away from danger and is less effective. I worry that teams will target him next season.

Athletically he isn't outstanding either. We've seen players glide past him on a number of occasions.

Finally, if he isn't good enough the only backup we have is Lundstram. This worries me a lot.

Give the lad a brake will ya, he's just coming back from an operation in he, he'll just be holding back for a while , I know I would... :tumbleweed:

May not be related to this thread but why is there a clique of people that jump at Norwood any chance they get? So bizarre especially when players of much lesser quality such as Lundstram get unrelenting support sometimes from the same people. Not saying that support for Lundstram Is a bad thing In anyway at all, I just find it a double standard of extremely weird proportions.

Some people can’t forgive him for not being Paul Coutts.

Reckon all of our players can't wait to get started, none of them will let us down and we will see what our team are capable of. Blades rollercoaster has just jumped tracks onto the maddest Alton towers has to offer.
Prediction. Just like the previous three seasons, the Blades will top the EPL even if it's just for a few hours.
Finish mid table.
Skipper to score 10 over the season.

Yes I think Norwood is good enough.

Wasn't it fulham who let him go?

How did they get on?

Tried to get a bet on us being top at any stage, bookie wouldn't take it.

They fancy our start as well it seems..

Anybody remember when we didn't have anybody to take a decent corner, freekick* or cross the ball so that it landed on an attacker's head? We haven't come that far that we can dispense with a lad who provides all those things.

* Except that Fleck one ;)

2 promotions from the Championship before joining us, and twice being deemed not quite good enough for the Premier league, so is he going to be good enough for us?
He was fantastic for us last year but is he good enough for the step up? Previous managers think not, so in Wilder do we trust?
YES!

Really? He was one of the key players that propelled us to promotion, he was voted into the championship team of the season as well.
Honestly if we dumped him I'd be outraged.

Played second half of last season with a hernia problem. Is now back playing post operation to correct this. Might take a game or two more to get back to full fettle, be reyt.

You do like to go all Adrian Durham every now and then don't you.

Where is the Master of what's good enough when we need him? Recent posts from Nicolaus_Copernicus have added a new insight into a player's worth, namely are they hung like an Arabian thoroughbred. Nic's astute and wise commentary on the value of a changing room full of swinging schlongs must be the final word on this topic.....over to you Nic.

afternoon drinking?

How would anyone know..........He never got the chance. Also have a look where Fulham’s judgement got them and Brighton could probably do with him back.

Why pick on one player ? A more apt thread of “Are any of our players good enough” would have been better because if we are honest, none of us have a fucking clue. I hope they all step up, but if they don’t, they don’t.

We have no players with ‘proven’ Premier League ability, so how can you predict who will or won’t end the season as Premier League quality.
