Is next years Premier League the best ever?

Don’t think so. Footballs been around far longer than since the inception of the Premier League.

Also the Premier League has had such clubs as WImbledon, Swindon, Barnsley and Oldham in it.

It’s more about attractiveness to the wider world, or at least that’s what I’m getting at. Clubs and matches you’d switch on the telly for.

Next years Premier League on that score is possibly the best ever.

Football might have been around much longer than the PL, however the game has changed so much since when the likes of Forest and Derby were powers in Europe.

I don’t think you could say that next season is any stronger than any other really. It’s all very subjective. Personally I think there are clubs that are more ‘famous’ than the likes of us, Brighton and Burnley. It’s those teams that have the global appeal you speak of.

On the flip side is La Liga the worst it's ever been? Piggies say that Wycombe away is their Liverpool away day.

A great opportunity for any team which has been struggling to put together a promotion challenge for some time, to finally get it over the line. Some might even say a one-off...

just got me thinking about the strongest ever premier league in terms of historical average home attendance has anyone got an idea? Looking like 1997 is a big contender with 16 out of the 20 clubs having the highest average attendances historically

I think most of the big footballing cities are represented......Nottingham and Bristol may have a case though.
I live in Bristol and let me tell you...a big footballing city it is not!!! Certainly Forest and Sunderland would grace the top table IMO.

I think you can make a decent case for Sunderland & Nottingham Forest. I don't think any other big clubs are missing really...

Brighton, Palace and Fulham out. They have won very little. Forest, Sunderland and Blackburn Rovers in for their past achievements. The definition of big has to be based on their trophy cabinet not their fan base or even seasons in the top flight. Stoke are the big failures there. One of the original 12 who created the football league and in over 157 years they have won the sum total of fck all.

Pigs are excluded for match and accounts fixing and the fact no-one wants to listen to them droning on about how massiv they are.

Sunderland and Forest for Brighton and Burnley and I think you've got your all-time ideal top flight.

They won the League Cup in '72 I think, but that's about it.
B*stards knocked us out after 3 replays in the semi-final. Bloody Gordon Banks..

I was at the 0-0 semi final replay at S6. After the match many fans threw seat cushions from the seats in the North stand to the pitch. I went to the League Cup final too

Wolves and Leicester look more than capable of turning the traditional big 6 into a big 8,
Not sure about that BfS. I think more likely a new traditional big 3 pretty much in line with how this season finished.
Liverpool, City, Man U out in front with Wolves (I think Leicester will fall away) Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs, in a second not-quite-so-big group fighting it out for 4th place.
Then the mid-group of Leicester, Everton, Us, Burnley, possibly Leeds, with everyone else bottom 8.

It has to be the best for years and maybe the best ever in terms of attraction for the neutral and the rest of the watching world...

Arsenal
Aston Villa
Brighton
Burnley
Chelsea
Crystal Palace
Everton
Fulham
Leeds United
Leicester City
Liverpool
Manchester City
Manchester United
Newcastle United
Sheffield United
Southampton
Tottenham Hotspur
West Bromwich Albion
West Ham United
Wolverhampton Wanderers

Plenty of big traditional clubs in there, nearly all of them an attraction for the worlds Premier League.

Looking at the contenders I’d struggle to improve it. Maybe find room for Sunderland but not sure who I’d take out to accommodate them.

Palace? Brighton, Burnley?

Not sure.

What’s your thoughts. Is this the most attractive Premier League for years if not ever?

Who would improve it?

Sunderland apart, its pretty much the perfect Premier League.

Sadly, the coming season will be a shambles. We're not done with Covid 19 yet.

Would like to have Blackburn, Forest, Pompey and Sunderland in there

Instead of Brighton, Burnley, Fulham and Palace.

There is also a case for Bolton and Coventry being in there, based on history, even though I cannot stand the pair of them.

I was slightly wrong. League Cup semi-finals are of course, 2 legged! So there were only 2 actual replays.
Little known fact: Gordon Banks should have been playing for us. He was going to sign for us before he then went to Stoke.

Sunderland, Florist Blackburn to name 3 have got to earn their right in PL, Brighton & Burnley have done so no such thing as a free pass into PL. Leeds have won promotion to PL for 1st time ever as did Villa last season, there is more chance of me winning F1 Championship than pigs getting into PL.
