Indeed. Very selfish of the man to have the club’s medium-term future in mind when efforts to improve the short-term failed, and awful foresight to buy a player that went on to be the African Cup of Nations Player of the Tournament.

His efforts failed. He was hopelessly out of his depth at the highest level. He should have been thanked profusely then sacked once he achieved promotion.

Each of those players were his top targets, and as evidenced by spending made after he left we could have afforded them. Whose fault was it that we refused to match Jerome’s asking price? Why was it that we were prepared to expand the wage bill after relegation but wouldn’t loosen the same purse strings 5 months earlier when it was needed? He can absolutely be held to account for failures in several performances that season, but I’m not sure how anyone can say the failure to bring those players in was due to a lack of effort on his part.

He did a bit of coaching as well, I hear?...

That does nothing to diminish his contribution as a player, which is what we were talking about. Bobby Charlton and Bobby Moore also bombed as coaches but I don't hear anything from West Ham and Man U fans ripping the piss out of them like you do.

Agreed, however the players he DID bring in...dear oh dear.

But achieved nothing for us Neil :)

The money plus three players wages would have been better spent on making sure we stayed up.

With doubts about a new contract being aired before the JTW though, maybe buying for the future wasn't the wisest decision?

My mates mother went out with him for a bit, years ago when they were young'uns.

She dumped him, because he was "a big headed twat"

Still our twat though.

Of course he’s a twat the real question is a blade or just a self loving publicity seeking cunt

Grateful for what he was part of but all this "best set of lads I've ever worked with" at every club he goes to does him no credit in my view. It's like an ex who keeps ringing you to tell you her current beau is a better shag than you. You don't want to fucking hear it.

Football cuckold.

What do you want him to say?

"I'm happy to be at Leeds/QPR/Palace/Cardiff, but to tell you the truth, this set of players are nowt like the ones I had at Bramall Lane/Elland Road/Loftus/Selhurst."

You do understand what leadership and management is all about, yeah?

Pretty conclusive then this poll. Like whether Brexit is good or bad or if marmite is food.

I hope if ever we are truly in the shit he would come back and do what he's done at Cardiff

I'd like to think I understand enough to get by in my job (though some days I have my doubts) but what it is "all" about, probably not to be honest.

he's always been a twat, love him or hate him he's a twat .

But teams who have him are better than they were before and any investor in a club would want him .
yeh twat but winning twat.

Well, first of all, it isn't engendering a sense of lesser worth in the team you are responsible for. They may be shit, but they are my responsibility, and if you go round telling people that they don't make the grade of former teams, they'll start to believe they are worthless and will never meet your expectations.

I will give him a round of applause on Monday.

He took us up to the Premiership on a relative pittance and is about to do the same with Cardiff.

When McCabe replaced him with Robson it was the beginning of all our troubles, yet it’s Warnock who gets sneers and slears whilst Kev is loved “cos he’s a Blade”

Relative pittance? They spent more on Madine than we have spent on total fees in the last 2 windows. They have signed 2 other players for seven figure sums.

Warnock has done a great job but he's been well backed. Vincent Tan is a very rich man.

Warnock for whatever his faults may be (and I think there are a few), deserves any applause he gets for his time here when he comes back.

Not quite sure I totally agree about the "love" for Mcabe. He gets plenty of pelters, again not a man without faults but he has put money in over the years. There are more of our ex Chairmen who deserve the pelters a lot more than he does.

what has he done to be labelled a twat by the supporters of his boyhood club who he took to the prem?
you may not like some of his antics, but he's a pantomime villain.
yes he blamed the refs, called whoever he's managing the best set of players he's ever had but so does Mourino and so did Fergie.
mourino took a team that had Abrahovichs cash and won things over a 4/5 year spell.
Warnock wad here 7 years, took us up on almost nothing, and without Trevor brooking (i just typed brooking into my phone and it auto corrected to grooming, which is apt.) in the FA would have kept us there.
if you look at all good managers there is s twattish streak in there, clough (Brian!) been the first and probably best at it, yet every other set of supporters lauds theirs, we give him hell, guess that's the blades way...

Some people haven't put a single penny in and yet they criticise McCabe who has spent millions.

Some people are supporters and casual observers on a football forum, and some are the Chairman, strategist and hirer and firer of a football club.

Perspective is a bit lost on Bert, isn't it?

Again - Bert's view = if you put money into the club, you're allowed to have an opinion. All else is not fair.

That very recent quote about us always being in the shadow of the pigs, through his childhood and growing up. What a complete load of bollocks - we'd have to concede it, if it were half true, but he was on the wind up. He said something along the lines of "they were always far bigger" or summat like that. What so-called Blade would even say anything like that ?

Would have linked to the quote but i can't be arsed to search the forum (it was posted on here a few weeks ago).
