This was my first ever utd kit. I never understood why the Laver sponsor wasn't on it?
Had flashbacks then to Barry Butlin, John Matthews and Martin Peters with the image in my head of the Cantor oneWell that’s pissed me off. Pinstripes..hated them the first time around and will hate them now. Only two shirts have ever been worse. The Cantor one with the broad red centre and the diamond one.
Who the hell signs off on these? Seriously, who makes the decision? Certainly not the fans which is what should happen.
We can but hopeI just don't see how they can make A very 90s looking shirt, modern.
It looks dated. It's always been awful. The one before it was class (without the black). Would've preferred a remake of that.
Wonder if we'll get shellsuit walkout jackets and t-shirts that you blow on and they change colour?
Same, even loved the badgeI loved the Adkins pinstripe shirt. Sue me.
Some proper little rays of sunshine on here tonight! It’s a kit, how does it illicit such passion in you?
Any football shirt looks shit on overweight middle-aged blokes (and ladies) anyway.

Exactly. I would rate it above the diamond kit though, but like I said in another thread, great memories - shit kit.Unpopular opinion. This is one of, if not THE worst shirt ever. The diamond shirt was better. I think it's only remembered fondly for the seasons we had in it.

They don’t ask the fans because there is absolutely no consensus between the fans as to what the kit should be.Well that’s pissed me off. All of the aboveThey don’t ask the fans because there is absolutely no consensus between the fans as to what the kit should be.
Round neck? Collar? V neck? Lace up?
Thick stripes? Pin stripes? Medium stripes? If so how many?
Black outline on the stripes?
Plain back? Plain sleeves? Striped back? Striped sleeves?
Too much white? Not enough white?
Black shorts? White shorts?
Black socks? White socks? Red socks?

You'd still have a majority of fans who didn't vote for the kit with the most of votes. First past the post often leaves a majority of voters losing outYears ago they put 6 kits on the website and asked blades members to vote their fav. Majority ruled
I didn’t think that was too bad an idea and gave the fans a say
After all, they want fans to buy the fker
Same here! No sponsor on mine either. This was my first ever utd kit. I never understood why the Laver sponsor wasn't on it?
I remember the 97 home kit being chosen by a fan vote following on from the poorly received 96 home kit.I remember years ago they gave us a choice of 3 options to vote from. I voted for the one with a more blackcurrant stripe instead of the usual red because I thought it looked class. It didn’t win but at least we had a say. I don’t see why they couldn’t do something similar with maybe season ticket holders and membership holders having a say (to stop piggies jumping in and voting for the worst one)
Never liked any Version of pinstripes , the Adkins season one was metaphorically putting up the white flag and the early 90s ones always looked pink from a distance.
Unless playing sport. Not convinced any man over 25 should be wearing a replica shirt.
It’s not really about that though, at least not for me. It’s all about the team I support wearing a kit I like. Personally I stopped wearing the shirt years ago. The last one I wore was the one given to season ticket holders, the black one with the name of every past player woven into it. That was the kind of shirt which wasn’t too bad to wear out in the pub beeer garden on a nice dayNot convinced any man over 25 should be wearing a replica shirt.
I always wear mine on holidayNot convinced any man over 25 should be wearing a replica shirt.
