Is it just me or...?

Really gutted for Coutts, but as some have covered, there are others waiting in the wings and now is the perfect (arguably only) opportunity to shine and stake a claim for that place.

We're not in a relegation scrap are we!!
We've players to step up to the plate in lundstram or carruthers.
The worst we can do is start to play deep and counter.
The holding role must go to fleck with Duffy and Brooks and lundstram in the diamond.
Still plenty of quality in there.
January we have to splash some now.
Leonard anyone???
I'm not sure Fleck could manage the Coutts role Gav.
He seems to have a few mistakes in him and could prove costly as in the one at Forest.
I'd also worry about his temperament. He's more likely to get closed down and if he gets clipped a couple of times he might be tempted to seek repercussions!
I reckon Lundstram is more suited to the Coutts role.

Every team loses players, the lucky ones don't lose key players. We're going to be a significantly reduced team without Coutts. Both our midfielders are vitally important.

Took the gloss off for me,but ofcourse we have to move on without him...Big chance for Carruthers or Lundstram to step up now.

I'm chuffed with the win actually.

We'll adapt and move forward.
Nothing wrong with this. We are a professional club and have to accept injuries happen. We've coped losing Freeman and ched and others . We don't have the luxury of wailing and moping about over a much loved player.. We adapt with the squad and push on regardless.
Wishing Coutts a speedy recovery but we must stay focused on the prize

No team completely goes season injury free-__we've been fortunate over the last year or so in that respect.
Cw has a bit of a headache now because it may be a tactic changer.(formation 442.)

I got hospitality at the Bradford vs Charlton game and Holmes was the best player on the park. He very much looked like a Paul Coutts type of player.

The tackle was a shocker ( seen a close up of impact t ) Wilder says it was a pen, I think the player should have walked .Will there be retrospective action on this as the ref must have missed it.
It could be a career ending injury as he is 29 and a break. ( both bones ) like this will put him out for a long time

Never thought beating Nigel Clough and going top of the Championship (without playing well at all) could be so unsatisfying.

It feels like a defeat tonight, and a big one at that. I would have much rather lost the game.

Our chances of automatic promotion have been significantly reduced.

We've had good luck with injuries since Wilder came in. It seems we've saved all our bad luck for this.

It feels like normal service is resumed. The inevitable kick in the bollocks just as we're on the verge of something great.

All the best to Coutts and I sincerely hope he can come back the same player as quickly as possibe.

As for Sordell, I hope the vile cunt suffers the same thing one day. Or even better, something worse.

Everyone needs to calm the **** down... we’ve done OK without Coutts before and have able replacements (Just not Lundstram).

I thought Lundstram had a solid 2nd half, and was a good replacement for Coutts. He can't permanently replace him tho, as others have said Carruthers now has a chance to step up to that role. In any case, we still have one of the best squads in the league, and we will roll with the punches.

I’m gutted. I haven’t celebrated the win at all, it feels like a defeat to me.

Don’t think I’ve been so gutted about an injury to a blade since maybe Dane. It’s devastating to see a lad at the top of his game, clearly enjoying his football and home life in a team playing so well and at the top of the league just have it all ended for at least 6 months in a split second due to a lazy, hanging out of a leg by a fucking moron!

It took him over 2 years to get over the physical and mental scars from his last bad injury, so this really could mean he will never get back to the levels he has found this last 12 months.

I’m hopeful Wilder will have a plan to deal with it and that the players won’t let it affect them and how they play.
But you simply cannot replace Coutts in this team and system and expect the same level of quality and control from our midfield from here in. It simply won’t happen.
As a result our defence will be under more pressure, and our ability to move the ball around the pitch will be severely affected.
Fleck and Coutts are the 2...the only ones we couldn’t replace if we lost them. If we look to buy a replacement we will need to be shelling £5m to come close. And we all know that won’t happen.

Gutted tonight, for Coutts, the team, and the fans. What a player he's become. Came away feeling more like a loss.

Coutts didn't exactly hit the ground running with us. I think there's more to come from Lundstram..

Does it not actually feel like a win tonight? Coutts is (in my opinion) our most important player. He vast majority of our good work goes through him or Fleck at some point. Now it looks like he's done for a good while... what next?

Is Lundstram ready?
Can Carruthers play the role?
Do we try Fleck there & bring Brooks into Flecks spot?

I'm actually gutted after a blades win...

Get well soon Paul lad!

P.S. Fuck you football gods!!
Gutted for Coutts, but that was a really big win considering

Football aside, he's going to be immobile for a long period of time which is going to have a huge impact on not only him, but his wife and twins. This is another huge battle for him, but he's done it before and will do it again.

Me neither, really upset me this one has

Shit happens .he's a favourite amongst the fans but we have cover and it's only 6 weeks till we can get a replacement cover in . The lads we have aren't bad and do a job . The gaffer wont be phased by it . No one is ever unreplaceable. Could have been we got someone in in Jan and he'd play less games .let's hope it's a good clean break and heals up nicely .
