Is this the most eagerly anticipated game you can ever remember?

Certainly is for me.

Its only Tuesday too. What a struggle this week is going to be.

Do we have any hope of Sharp being fit for this one? Would be fitting for him to be involved.

If hes not fit, the only conundrum will be Madine or Hogan.

Having not been at Hull - how did Hogan do?

Hogan for me. He did well yesterday and his running ensured they had to defend deeper and gave us more space in midfield and for Mcgoldrick.
 
I'd have Madine Hogan and Didsy up top on Saturday. I reckon Ipswich will sit back to defend so we need Madine's height for sure. Hogan for that extra player for the defenders to struggle against when balls are being pumped into the box

Wouldn't it be nice to be out of sight by half time like we were yesterday. What an atmosphere the second half would be.

It's certainly one of them. There aren't many games which you go into feeling very confident that at the end of it we'll have won promotion. I thought Sharp had done his hamstring, so that's 6 weeks if so - in which case no. I was at Hull. I don't want to take any gloss off a fine Blades performance but seeing as you asked, the honest answer is that I wasn't very impressed by Hogan. I haven't been impressed with him much so far. He's definitely got a good turn of pace and he was chasing down the ball yesterday like a good un. But, he just doesn't seem to do much on the ball - and early in the second half there were a couple of lovely crosses sent over the box and he wasn't anywhere near getting on the end of them. As for Madine, he wins just about every ball in the air for me and we did notice that as soon as he came on. But it was late in the game for him to make much difference and he came on at a time when we were not really pushing for another goal.

TBH - If we do go up, and I think we will, then I wouldn't be looking to sign either Hogan or Madine. I think we can do better. The lad Maupay at Brentford may be one to go for if we're looking for a small fast box player.

I don’t think there’s been anything definitive on when he’ll be back, though encouraging he was in the group that celebrated at the end yesterday (I think – seemed visible on the vid from the club twitter)
 
We play better when Hogan's on the pitch IMO less of the lumping it forward .
Bring madine on last 15 -20mins to cause problems if we are getting desperate
 
Play the fittest strongest team available without sentiment, which I trust Wilder to do.

I believe the crowd will also play their part this time because it's effectively a final for us. Win the game and we're there.

No room for complacency on or off the pitch. Spending a bit of time thinking how we'd all feel if we didn't win on Saturday should focus the mind.

It depends on the depth of the opposition line.

If the opposition plays with a high line, Madine is less effective, as he'll be winning headers half way up the pitch rather than in the box. Hogan on the other hand has plenty of pace, so the high line gives him the oppurtunity to frighten defenders by running in behind them.

The opposite is true when a team sits deep.

I've not seen enough of Hull or Ipswich to definitively say how they play, but I'd guess hull generally play higher up and I imagine Ipswich will be far more defensive. For that reason, we might see Madine rather than Hogan.

Agreed - it worked because we flooded midfield and just played through them.

For me it was effectively 3421 with McG and Duffy being free to roam about - it quite simply worked and should be a blue print for next season (IF we beat Ipswich that is).

We are tempted to go too long with Madine. Ipswich are very poor this season and we just need to play round them and through them.

For all who went to Hull, I have to compliment them on the surface - it was absolutely fabulous to play "our" brand of passing football on. Hard to think of a better pitch than ours, but it was in great condition.

If Sharp’s fit, he should play. But if he’s not recovered to the extent that we see him at 80% we should go with someone else. We above all need to play a team that gets us that result. I’m sure Sharp would want to play if he’s only able to give 50% – we need to be sensible though, and I’m sure Wilder will be.
 
I was getting too nervy and angry at games so after the Bristol debacle I said to my mate that his lad could have my season ticket until we had guarantee'd promotion and I wasn't watching or listening until then. Yes, bizarre I know. Wife thinks I am a loony believing that my very presence can bring about bad results. So, typical Blades, not done it yet, so I will be sacrificing my place at what will hopefully be as joyous occasion as Leicester. You can all thank me later.

As for the team, I'd have three keepers on the bench. You can never be too careful.
 
As others have said, we need to play out strongest, fittest 11 and come out of the blocks. One look at the Leeds-Wigan result reminds that nothing should be taken for granted and anything can happen. That said, I trust Wilder and the staff to focus the players' minds this week; I trust our players to be professional and committed, and I trust our fans not to start crowing and get behind the team on Saturday, for what could be a match that we'll remember and enjoy for the rest of our lives.
