Ipswich fans getting tit on with Wilder over "Waggy"

Afraid you’re incorrect on this one. Wilder said that the bid was sat there, that it “hasn’t been accepted or declined.” Ipswich had never referred directly to our interest, but the media had picked up on it. I would guess that the leak came from either our side, or (more likely) his agent.

I’m also pretty sure Eddie Howe never spoke publicly of their bid for Brooks.
If you get full info they turned down our initial bid some weeks ago they haven't responded to our latest offer which is quoted as being £5million ,they let the cat out of the bag

To be fair, I get their point. I wouldn’t have been too amused if Eddie Howe had been making noise about their bid for David Brooks. It is a clear unsettling tactic and the objective, clearly, is to encourage the player to submit a transfer request. It’s unusual behaviour from Wilder, but the Transfer World is a dirty one and occasionally these tactics have to be deployed.

Where Waghorn is concerned, I still don’t think we have the clout to afford him and I suspect that a club higher up the financial food chain will gazump us.
there isn’t that much noise.. a reporter asked if we’d made a bid and CW confirmed it .. no gloating .. nowt.. what’s the fucking problem?

I’m positive they didn’t. If you can find a quote from their manager referring directly to our interest then fair enough, but I’ve looked and he hasn’t.

The reporter didn’t even ask Wilder, he just came out with it himself. It was very unusual for him. As I said in my post - it’s not the best etiquette, but it goes on, it’s a dirty business at times, I’ve no “problem” with it.

My post served to point out that it would be hypocritical of us to call out the Ipswich fans for being upset with Wilder, when we would (and have historically) felt the same when managers of other clubs have commented on our players. If a West Brom, or Stoke suddenly start declaring public interest in John Fleck tomorrow - I’m positive the rhetoric on here will mirror the sentiments of the Ipswich lads.

The Waghorn bid, does have the effect of unsettling a Championship competitor - so that can't be bad whether he comes or not. Despite a good return for Ipswich after only 44 games for them.Though id much rather spend the money on an upgrade to Coutts. A Cairney or Neves type who can feed our proven goalscorers

“If we lose Waghorn to Sheffield United, you’ve got to question where we are as a club.”

What is it with all these shit fucking irrelevant clubs with a handful of fans that always have a strange sense of entitlement? They’re on the same level of arrogance as Arsenal and Man U fans but they’ve actually got something to be arrogant about.

You missed out 'tinpot'....

I don't see much wrong with their comments to be fair. If we were selling Fleck to Ipswich we would be the same
I agree Roy, finlay said earlier about when we sold Maguire and now Brooks but that was to premiership clubs, if we had sold either of them to a middling championship club we would, quite rightly go apeshit

Yeah I've just been on their forum and they aren't happy at all. People saying we are more ambitious then them and are spending money unlike them. Made me feel a bit weird reading it

Most of the comments are pretty measured to be fair.

Although I am amused that Chris is fast becoming the most hated man in East Anglia :)
East Anglia??
Isn't that somewhere between, the Sunday morning skids left in the pan, and the sick next to the bin, outside the chippy??

They seem desperate not to lose him which shows the quality of the player.

What ever happened to financial fair play that’s what I want to know it fails me how clubs like Sheffield Utd can afford that kind of money there’s no way there making that kind Of turnover.
But I have to say sell Waghorn and kiss goodbye to championship status sadly

Obviously more retarded than I thought !!

Just me who doesn’t give a shit how ‘professional’ they think we are? Much rather get a signing that makes the team better by being a shithouse than miss out by keeping our mouths shut and maintaining an image of being professional

Every weekend is gonna be derby day at this rate

I’m delighted by this. Last season there were some uncomfortable mutterings post-Norwich nonsense that everyone “preferred Ipswich”, that they were “a much nicer club” etc etc. Fuck that. Taricco’s antics alone dooms that club to a lifetime of contempt, and this is a magnificent restoration of business as usual.

Welcome back everyone.

Alan Brazil, John Walk and every other famous Ipswich player that I have heard of (currently none, maybe Worzel Gummidge?), we are taking your boy Waggy and putting him infront of a proper set of fans, at a proper club in a proper city. Go and vape on a carrott pussies.

But please United fans if we do sign him can we come up with a proper nickname, 'Waggy' sounds gay as fuck!
