Searched the internet for the video of the away leg to no avail, can anyome help me out and point me in the right direction? Went with my old man and my uncles aged 11 and i'm driving one of said uncles to the fa cup game in a few weeks, had a chat about enjoying portman road and how that play off game probavly gives us that feeling of enjoyment everytime we visit that ground, cheers in advance, UTB

Awful at the time but to be fair over the yrs we've become accustomed to it! Ipswich away in the 2nd leg will always be an amazing memory for me, me and my old man weren't going to the game as apparently we had "no chance". I was in school when in walked the head saying mum.was here for my dentist appointment (i wasn't aware of this). Got to the car and my kit was laid out on the back seat and dad in the front, "get dressed son we're going"

Would love to see the highlights or full match somewhere!

One of my favourite matches ever.

Obviously Tarrico was the pantomime villain, but I can’t remember why I detested Ipswich so much at the time. Anyway, I did.

The doddery old fella next to me went ABSOLUTELY MENTAL when Walker scored and I was worried he was going to keel over.

Loved the players getting in Tarrico’s face after the final whistle too.

Those are the nights when you reap the rewards for watching years of sh!te.

Sept 1995. We were winning 2-0. Tarrico got near to Dane's face shouting at him after a corner was awarded to us. Dane pushed him on the chest but Tarrico fell down as if he was shot!

Understandable from the Sheffield United legend,he was a horrible little bastard,

Did Fyortoft have a dig at Tarrico or did I imagine that?

Love this. Such a great memory for you. My fave blades memory as a kid is related...I stayed up to listen to the 2nd leg on the radio, I remember going crackers at full time, then being brought down to earth when my parents sadly told me we couldn't afford Wembley tickets...I was heartbroken but tried to seem ok as even at the tender age of 11 I understood that money doesn't grow on trees etc.

Sometime later...I came home from school one night and there on the armchair was my usual copy of the Beano. I picked it up, and underneath it were 2 season tickets (mine and my dad's first ever) for the following season, and 2 tickets to the playoff final. Bloodyhell...I'm welling up typing this just remembering it...it was one of those moments that will stay with me forever. Sod Palace and sod Hopkins...in that moment I was beyond happy :)

The sunniest night match I've ever been to.

Nerve-wracking night with Kelly on one leg for most of it. Thought Sedgeley was a cert to score from the free kick that hit the post.

I remember going to both legs. We weren't very optimistic at the start and after a 1-1 draw in front of a poor 22,000 crowd at Bramall Lane in the first leg nobody held much hope for the second leg, but it turned out to be a corker with us hanging on in extra time despite having a man sent off and Alan Kelly hobbling in goal. It was probably Howard Kendall's high point as manager. Great night, but rather forgotten after the play-off final no-show v Palace.

Brilliant memories, Ipswich is and always will be very very high up in my top 10 just because of how it happened and the fact we weren't going. Mum took us to swinton to catch a coach from the Don hotel, the rest will live with me forever. Shame about the final but like i said, we've got used to that!

For the first leg I was supposed to be playing cricket for Hallam at Wombwell so I bought my season ticket seat anyway and prayed for rain - it absolutely slashed it down. Cricket abandoned, managed to get in for about five to three.

Away leg I was at my sixth form leavers ball at Baldwins Omega - for the last half an hour I was shovelling 20p pieces into their payphone while Mum put the phone next to the radio. Fantastic.

I can't remember details of most games from twenty years ago but those two are crystal clear!
