That's Maurisio Tarricco, horrible nasty player, think he spat in Hutchison and Fjortofts direction, Hutchison gave him a clip round the ear.

From my 'Memries of Ipswich' back in Oct. 2017:

Another big game against Ipswich came in the 1996-97 season when we met each other in the Division One (now Championship) semi-final play-offs to try to get back in the top tier. The first game at Bramall Lane was a 1-1 draw (Fjortoft) and we drew the return leg at Ipswich 2-2 (Katchouro, Walker) so we went through to the play-off final at Wembley to play Crystal Palace where – if you don’t know the outcome – you haven’t been watching United long enough!

The only other thing of note that I remember about Ipswich is a dirty fucker of a player they had called Mauricio Taricco. This Argie played for Ipswich between 1994 and 1999 before he went on to pollute Spurs for 5 years. In his time with Ipswich, we played them at home 4 times – all in the second tier. In one of these home games, the dirty twat did an unforgivable foul on one of our players. After the match (which some of you might help me with), me and my mates were in the south stand social club. The Ipswich team coach came round to the players entrance and a few Blades stormed out of the social club and got on the team bus where – I hope – they hammered the little cunt. Hopefully somebody can add some details?

In a previously life I had to undergo a cognitive memory assessment. Task was to remember and describe an over riding memory and be able to remember new aspects using cognitive skills that the memory had forgotten.

I picked the second leg.

One of the best feelings that warm night with the sun setting over that half built stand, the nerves on edge, Tarrixhio's antics And the rest described here.

Nowadays I'd pick Northampton away, but only so as I can remember what happened after being on the pitch. I remember going into my local with a bottle of champagne for the bar maids, but not the journey or where I'd been to in London. The best memories are also the most easily forgotten!

That equaliser really was an odd one. I’m not sure if it’s inadvertently brilliant skill by Walker, but that header could have gone anywhere before conveniently ending up by his feet.

I think that’s the first time I’ve seen the JAF reaction to Taricco. Absolutely loved watch that.

Interesting comments. I don't remember it being warm and strangely enough, I don't remember Fjortoft playing. I remember Walker's goal, but my biggest memory is one of their fans running out of their end when they scored (possibly their 2nd) and doing a klinsmannesque dive through the 18yrd box on his belly and me thinking 'that's us done for another year'. I was sat with a mate in the far left side of the stand as you looked at it and there were empty seats. A youngish lad was sat near us smoking a j, and offered us a drag. We turned it down & a while later he nervously asked whether we were plain clothed police! :D

Thinking back again over this brilliant night, an odd memory came back to me....

...seeing the team bus after the game with Fjortoft on the roof doing his aeroplane celebration.

I’m sure that’s right, but it seems like a dream. Anyone else see that? I might just have been totally off my head on Bladey Bladeness.
