I haven't seen either game but will say that I'm not at all excited about the game on Saturday after yet another underwhelming start to the season, the third in succession.

Fail to win on Saturday and the pre season optimism will be completely evaporated.

The comments I've read seem that yet again we are starting a season without having the right players in place and having to look to add to the squad before the end of August. One of the most important things to have in your team in league one is pace- we have absolutely none and the only player we possessed with pace has been sold. I really hope we get the right reinforcements in but without a couple of pacey midfielders arriving I think we will struggle at times this season.

Two new signings are all that's needed imo .

CM and LW and we'll be a completely different proposition. With a LW/WM Hussey Duffy and Brayford will all benefit..... and indirectly Sharpe and Clarke . CM the entire team will function more efficiently .

I'm also gonna stick my neck out here . We'll beat both Rochdale and Southend and go on from there .

Need to take chances etc
not enough following the plan
Long and O'Connell picked up knocks - doesn't sound good for Saturday
Never enquired about Morsy/not interested in Poyet
Got backing to bring more players in
Need to make changes quick

I like how he begins but it kinds of gets gradually less re-assuring. He doesn't sound overly confident that he'll be able to bring the players in he needs. Or, to a lesser degree, that the players will do what he wants them to.
Chris will sound a bit deflated after 2 straight defeats
no need to look for any deeper meaning that its not a great start for him

how some of our fans can extrapulate that mccabes not giving him enough funds from his tone of speech beggars belief
are they using something similar to the enigma decoder to get these meanings

Well if they don't like been told what to do I'd suggest hanging up their boots and fucking off.
The problem is learning to do it under pressure and when you barely have time to think. It's completely different to doing it in training. Chopping and changing how we play every season doesn't help, they're not top players with great football intelligence and adaptability.

Well I wish I had a job where I got paid huge sums of brass every week and could pick and choose how I'd apply myself. :--/

But again it's finger crossing and hoping isn't it.

I guess by end of transfer window we'll see if the finger crossers or the Doom MONGERS are proved right

So it's a centre mid/Left winger -2 players needed

The clock is ticking

But they are supposed to be professional footballers, getting paid a very handsome wage ( in the real world of electricians, plumbers, carpet fitters, shelf stackers and bus drivers etc) - the reason they get paid well is they are supposed to be better than the average guy who plays for fun in a Sunday morning Pub team !

The chances they have missed in the first two games are appalling - perhaps they should be paid on results / goals rather than a monthly salary !

As for DCL - as my late dad would often be heard to say about some footballers in his time '' He'll never make a footballer as long as he has a hole in in arse" - my sentiments entirely !!!

It's the same two weve been after for sometime . We all know it is .

We'll get em . I've no doubt about it .

With or without we'll still beat Rochdale and Southend .

I'm sure a lot of people do but I don't think they are picking and choosing how they apply themselves. I think they lack adaptability and it will take time to turn what Wilder wants into a habit. Some of them will probably never get it and some just won't be up to playing how he wants.

Which is what happens when you constantly change managers with little thought about their suitability for getting the best out of existing players but won't fund the required overhaul. You end up with square pegs in round holes, round pegs in square holes and a couple of arseholes.

The board and CW have got three weeks to sort this out or we'll have exactly the same as we got last season.

You're spot on with that last paragraph - that's the worry with no loan window last time - I just hope we don't go into deadline day as usual having not done what needs doing.

Hope you’re right mate. I’d be happy with say John Lundstram and Nathan Byrne to address the positions you mention. Think we’d look a far stronger proposition as a result.

So you’re saying if we invest in a bit of Polyfiller we might have the next Deano?

It’s nice to see that someone gets it! If only those at the top or those that scream for managers’ heads every five minutes could get it.

he is starting to get that look of fear in his eyes already, I dont like it. Starting to reminds me of Weir and Micky Adams. We need to stuff Rochdale on saturday or itll be an uphill struggle soon.

If he'd bought Pogba, some of our fans would moan ("wasting all that money on one player when we could have had Morsy and McFadzean").

At least 6 'main' chances created, 17 shots, 2 hit bar, dominated game, high pressing & tackles/interceptions aplenty. Tuftys OK for me

They have a few weeks left to get the players .I just hope Hull sell off Maguire before the last day so Wilder might get an extra penny or two.
A last day deal for Maguire and the money will go somewhere for the next window or the next summer or the next window.

All these close chances, balls hitting the bar will start nestling in the back of the net soon and everybody will be grabbing their penises. 1 league game ffs, at least wait a bit longer than that. Way too early yet.
