Need to take chances etc
not enough following the plan
Long and O'Connell picked up knocks - doesn't sound good for Saturday
Never enquired about Morsy/not interested in Poyet
Got backing to bring more players in
Need to make changes quick

I like how he begins but it kinds of gets gradually less re-assuring. He doesn't sound overly confident that he'll be able to bring the players in he needs. Or, to a lesser degree, that the players will do what he wants them to.

Not at all encouraged the board are giving him much of the Adams cash based on that – sounded more like they've settled an advance given to CW to sign/pay-off the players to date.

To be fair it wouldn't help his position as a buyer, if he made it public knowledge that the Che Adams cash was allocated for transfers, so I don't think we'll ever really know.

We shall have to wait and see whether we go shopping at Waitrose or Aldi and draw our on conclusions on available funds :(

More or less agree with his view of the game.

He doesn't want them taking the cowardly way out of sideways and backwards which I believe is something he'll gradually get them out of doing.

Clearly some of the money will go on clearing out Woolford. Wallace etc. I also agree we don't have much depth and quality on the bench. But there are still a couple I'd replace in the first eleven.

I'm expecting a tough game Saturday.

Clearing out those players should theoretically save us money or else you might as well hang onto them unless they are disruptive which I doubt is the case.

There's no point keeping James Wallace. He has a chronic injury which means he'll hardly ever play. Wilder will never play Woolford, why keep paying him ? A bit of money will be saved by releasing them.

Yes, so the money from Adams won't go to paying them off will it if we are saving money that way? I.e. paying off them should be funded from their upcoming wages in order for them to find work elsewhere.

Can`t help but get the feeling a majority of players think they`re on one long bun fight. We`ve been fucking gash since Wilsons first season,it`s like there`s a physical malaise pervaded the place.
Good luck Wilder,I really don`t think you had a clue how deep seated the fucking problems are.

I am starting to think every player before this regime, probably bar Sharp needs to go.

Nowt wrong with that interview. Said it exactly how it was. Didn't try to mask over anything. I think CW is realising some players haven't got the mentality and never will. Replace em Crissy lad don't hang about!

Fair point but 6 of them that started tonight are his players. Worryingly he made a point that even if they dont perform he will replace them or look elsewhere.

His interviews are the anti Adkins where CW slams his team / players in public!

The interview to me reading between the lines suggests that he isnt going to be seeing much of the Adams fee. No surprises there then. This is the SUFC board we are talking about.

Most worrying things from the whole interview was that he says players are not following his instructions. He did say he will drill it into them but not a good sign after 2 games. The other point was him saying he did not realise the extent of the problems - reminscent of Micky Adams.

I am more concerned from that interview than I was before - he seems to think we are a way off from his words on the squad and how he wants them to play.

You`d have to assume that his signings are attempting to do as he wants which begs the question what about the rest? Sharp aside, they underperformed under previous managers,or because of previous managers?
Either way,I hoped Wilder would as a benchmark demand and get utter commitment,effort,teamwork,desire...all the things a Bassett/Warnock outfit gave. Yes it`s very early, but given we still need a CB,CM,LW and IMO a GK that equates to almost a whole new team which won`t bed in overnight.
Another long,(no pun intended) season methinks.

I think by not following his instructions he means players dropping their bollox and playing it safe I.e side ways and backward passes. He almost described it as a selfish way of playing by individual players. I get his point. CW wants the players to constantly help each other out with the ball and without. People making space, offering an option, etc. Players need to be bold and brave or run the risk of becoming predictable. It's a mental thing and it seems some players are stuck in it. We saw it against Halifax. For me non of the new signings are the problem. It's the old players. The bollox dropping seems to be infectious so anyone guilty of it should be dropped. I think the subs came on tonight and did well performance wise but also in carrying out CW's plan.
In terms of the Adams money we will have to wait and see. The board can trust CW so give him the money ffs. We need players with a bit of billy big bollox about them!

So if the problems are deep seated then we can't be making managerial changes come May as we'll be back to square one, again. Give CW the backing required and let him bring in his targets and offload the shite. Easier said than done but its the only way.

Lets get behind the lads on the pitch and if you dont like some of them then get behind CW. The last thing they need is thousands of Blades getting on at them. Saturday is a chance to get a home win and three points.

COYRAWW !!!

Not listened but the first two lines sound like something the previous manager use to say.

Me too mate. I'm one of very few who, while praying CW would be the answer, I've refused to get carried away given that I thought the last 2 managers would be and was kicked firmly in the bollocks by both those. In true pessimistic style, I'm waiting to be impressed. He made a good start with interviews in the summer and a couple of his signings appear good but I really don't think he understood what a horrendous attitude most of the players he inherited have. Now we'll see what he's made of and whether he really can drill his expectations in to them and get a reaction. Players not following instructions was used quite a lot last season.

This isn't a pop at the manager, just a wake up call to the many who appeared to get carried away with his appointment like I did last year. We're miles off IMO and he's no miracle worker.

From what I saw Sat and last night
Sharpe is part of the problem not sure he will fit into the style Wilder is after.H he's not on his own of course Done was just as bad, Mcnulty looks more likely than them two.

Sharp has started poor by his standards but quality is permanent form is temporary .Chris ain't a numpty he can see where our early problems lie , I would be worried if we wasn't making goal scoring opportunities ,last night we should have put 6 or 7 past them
We all need to pull together get behind the lads .

It's almost like the manager hasn't been the problem, all this time.

Nothing against Wilder, and I ofc hope he sorts it out and gets us up etc.. But I'm sick of each manager getting the blame, when it's obvious out problems are much deeper seated than that.

Short fuse Swizzler, I did wait for the second defeat before I kicked off, credit where credits due.

That's almost barneyesque.

Vent when we're losing
I only vent when we're losing
Vent when we're loooosiinnngg
I only vent when we're losing.

I'd feel much worse but we didn't have to pay, maybe the players thought because we got in for free they didn't have to try as hard.

I wait all feckin summer to start watching an improved side and......

What's clear is we are a 20 minute team.

Give over. Yes most of the players we have had recently have had a attitude that stunk the place out and were quite rightly given the cold shoulder by the fans at the lap of shame after the scunnie game (pity Higgo and Collins had had already gone) but who brought this set of losers in to the club in the first place and who had them strolling around as if they didnt have a clue about what they were doing and showing a 'i couldnt give a toss attitude'? Clearly its the managers fault. Now we can all disagree about who is at fault most ...Weir...Clough...Adkins...the Board...but ultimately no one made the players fo out on to the pitch and stroll about like they were playing testimonials and not doing the basics of their jobs while they were being handsomely paid. The players bar the odd exception were a disgrace last season but it is the managers who brought em in and who should inspire them to better things.

Yes, so the money from Adams won't go to paying them off will it if we are saving money that way? I.e. paying off them should be funded from their upcoming wages in order for them to find work elsewhere.
We'll sort of. These transactions will be done by the end of August. So it is an amount of money paid in a lump sum now to unwanted players which reduces what Wilder can use to buy players now. If it isn't bugeted then it would reduce his available spend now. That's what I meant. Of course we make upwards of £5M pa loss, so maybe he is referring to some of the money will have to go to running costs. It didn't sound like he'd get it all to spend.
