At nearly 60 years of age the FA cup final win would be my ultimate wish before I leave this world.
shut up Digger FFS, nearly 60? you've got another 30 years in ya, you will see a FA cup win, blades in Europe and the bulldozers move into S6 to make way for a new Primark following their demise through the leagues into non league obscurity.

It is a strange one.

I do totally get people falling out with the PL. It's not just our fans either. The last time we were in this league I spoke to fans of big clubs who felt the same. Ironically one was a Leicester fan :rolleyes:
my bro in law has been a man city ST holder for 30 years.. he hates it now. him and his mates have started to go to Stockport County games they say it’s a better craic
(he’s also becoming a closet blade! : D)

I would like to see us win a cup before I curl my toes up that is for sure. Premiership ............. well we have to aim for it because that is the only way we will keep hold of Wilder and players such as Brooks. Nobody gave Leicester a chance of being champions so you can never say never, if we came straight back down we would secure our future for years if sensible with how we spent the TV monies and parachute payments, we might even have a few bob left to do the kop up a bit. My choice would be to win a cup and get some of the big European sides down to the lane, to do that though might need a few good seasons in the Premiership

Isn't the point of football winning matches? I know the "EPL" is morally bankrupt and a very odd beast indeed, but I don't expect the Blades to accept mediocrity. A club of our stature should be in the top tier, it's as simple as that, but we get there on merit (not by right) and Wilder is the man to take us there.

I think we’re enjoying the Championship now because of the wilderness (or is it Wilderless) years in div 3 and the fact that we’re doing so much better than most of us thought possible. Do I think it would soon get boring after being stuck here for a few years? Yes without a doubt.

Like the PL or not we have to aspire to it otherwise what’s the point of playing

The game against Hull was the one, we should have been in the Final in '14. I think SUFC owe us at least one more FA Cup final win, not just for those of us still going but for the many that have been and gone since 1925 (or 1936 for that matter).

As for promotion to the Prem, they've got to aim for it really, as should all clubs outside the top tier, however it is a steaming pile of w**k ... it is everything that is wrong with football in this country. If we do go up again this season I'd let these current lads have a tilt at it, and spend most of the money on turning the ground into a palace.

Understand people questioning whether they would want to see Utd actually go up, especially as the premiership comes with all the silly money, biased officials, corporatism, and blatant cheating. That said I've always wanted Utd go as far as they possibly can up the leagues. If that means the premier league then bring it on.

Youve got to go for it if the opportunity comes along and you can't have regrets if it doesnt quite work out over time. It's about giving it a go. My take on it is never be afraid to reach for the stars. Cos even if you fail to quite get there you will have touched the sky.

As an aside, if we did go up into the premiership (still a long shot i admit) then I'm sure we would compete. That would be enough for me.

My thoughts entirely. Compete at the top level. Anything’s possible. This club was once “a powerhouse of football”. It can be so again.

How can anyone not want to be at the same level as Burnley, Bournemouth, Swansea, West Brom, etc? Do we really not belong there with our history?

We shouldn't fear the Prem
There's 6 clubs that are a world apart but even Leicestér got past them.
Theres some who obsess about money being everything but stoke Burnley West Brom basically started way back in terms of spending.
We could have survived in 2007 if Warnock had spent 5 m he blew in the window on Shelton and fathi better. See wilder doing a similar job to burnley

Had a random chat with a bloke in a pub a few years ago who had been a Chelsea fan all his life. Similar in that he'd got fed up of the celebrity fans and how false it all felt.

Said he waited all his life for a night like Munich, only to end up feeling a bit underwhelmed when it happened.

Preferred the days of Speedie and Dixon he reckoned.

If getting to the PL meant keeping hold of talent and giving us a financial base on which to build I'd love to. If it means McLarens, Bentleys and Lambos in the car park with only a handful of the players who have served us so well in League 1 and the Championship getting a shirt I'm not so fussed.

As much as I like them, players like Leon and Sharp wouldn't realistically survive in the PL and that would be a shame. I look at Burnley and they've had to buy someone for £15m to play up front and score a few, we'd have to do the same. The wage structure and hunger of the players to play for the shirt would go and I think they would be replaced by mercenaries no matter how people like to think differently. That's the holy grail though I'm told.

At 58 years old, I too would love to see us lift one of the cups at least once. I want us to go up to the Prem but do have some reservations. My best times watching the Blades have all involved the promotions from the old Division One or Championship - 1971, 1990 and 2006. Love to add 2018 to that list.

£33 for a ticket for QPR away......£39 for a ticket to Leeds away........

£30 a ticket for Man United, Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea Liverpool, and the rest........

Get me to the Premier League please Mr Wilder, I'll save a fortune!

How many loyalty points do you have ?

:)

I'd like to see us lift a trophy.

No problem, chief.

What do I want? To see us win something. To do that, our best chance is if we are a PL club.

Football operates in a moral vacuum and always has done. Just back in the day it was kept away from the papers. I'm still waiting for greed to destroy the NFL and the NBA.

If I was only looking for 'community' and a day out, I'd watch non league. Going up would be great, we'd play top teams and the club would earn loads of money to develop BL, like everyone wants, and to put real distance between us and them. And KM would stay as owner and make sure we don't end up playing in Attercliffe in a new stadium with a 'lucky' yellow and blue strip and being called Sheffield Lucky Blades or some such shit.

Get on with it Chris.

Forget the money. What we have is more than money. Would we get relegated if we got promoted, probably. Would we compete, definitely.

That would be great if I supported Chesterfield or Lincoln. Winning L1 is meh. I'm a Blade, we've won four FA Cups (when they were the most important trophy) and the league. It's about time we started acting like a big club.

Draping tarpaulins over our stands?
Putting prices up to £50?
Making our own shirts?
Having our own global beer brand?
Having our own environmentally friendly no emission taxi company?

Is that what you meant, or perhaps not quite that 'big'?

Just been told - by a porker - that the FL are looking into the non trading sponsorship deals.

You're still a young 'un by comparison Digger, so plenty of time yet for us to lift silverware. Given the ingredients we currently have - management, players, staff - I think we have more than a chance of holding our own in the Premiership. As for winning something, if it's meant to be it will be. But back to your good self, who knows what's around the corner? As long as we continue our current momentum I think most Blades will be happy with the progress we're making.
