In his notes from last night's matchday programme: "The January transfer window is also on the agenda and discussions have already started around our plans to strengthen the squad for the second half of the season. Both owners are united in their vision and determination to return this football club to the Premier League, where it belongs".

If where it belongs is the lower mid table of the Championship then they are doing a fantastic job :D

Love to be wrong on this one.

Speak actions louder words than

Can't see us spending big money on a player even if ten million was available, the wages would break Wilder policy of gradual increases when merited.TTo buy a player on say 40K would have the rest knocking on his door.
Loan players is the most likely but wouldn't be surprised if we do get at least one permanent.
We are now at the point where it gets difficult to improve the team without some real money, having said that Wilder won't go over the top with wages ,will be an interesting window.

Looks like there's a real push to try and sell half-season tickets :D

Considering the two owners hate each other (or so it seems) that's quite a positive comment and one if I'm being honest I wasn't expecting

If they put their differences to one side at least in the short term and then back him then fair play

Pure banal senior management talk. Add 'journey', 'group' and 'focus' to 'agenda', 'vision' and 'determination' and shout 'bullshit bingo'. The simple fact is that we need to acquire the services of quality players in the JTW, and they cost £'s, in both fees and wages. We can be as united in our collective vision and as determined as we want if we pay the going rate we ain't getting the players in through the door. It's all been said before by different mouth pieces, talk is cheap, quality players aren't. :)

Anyone and everyone can see that to go to the next level we need thst extra bit of quality in the final third...down the middle and out wide. It's in neither of the 2 owners interests to see us fall away and Wilder walk. This is a very important transfer window.

Wilder wanted Bettis back to liase between both owners and himself. So you'd think he'd know the situation re January signings..

I think our two illustrious owners can see that we have in Wilder the "Golden Goose" that will lay the golden egg, and that appears to have rejuvenated both their interests to wrestle control of the Blades. That's how i see it anyway - i reckon without Wilder, McCabe would have probably let HRH have the rest of the ownership for not that much wonga.

As Herr Hitler once said “If you tell a big lie and tell it frequently enough, it will be believed”.
By the way seeing the veterans and serving soldiers last night brought a tear to my eye. Sometimes football just doesn’t seem as important.

That tallies with what KM told me in the Copthorne last night after the game.
"Oh, he is well backed. Don't worry about that" also said not to believe all that James Shields writes about it.

When I asked him if they would get Luke Freeman in for us he just smiled and was totally non committal. As is expect him to be.

Agreed, though perhaps we shouldn’t have had them all standing in position for Deadly Avenger and Da Hool. There was one guy facing towards the Kop that was carrying a clear “I’ve fought in a war for this?!” look, probably the moment as Captain Blade started dancing in front of him.

Nope what he said was" Vot der fuck, vere's der other one".

Both owners are united on a path of destruction! Anything less than 10m in January will leave us short of getting over the line. 10m for 180m in the promised land.

There easy when it's not my money.

That's the problem, if we buy two players and spend £10 million but we still don't go up they and a lot of fans will view it as lost money as opposed to us having two more quality players so that we can have a better squad to go at it again next season

When Warnock arrived we were terrible, it took years of building before we got back up to the Premier League, Wilder was starting from a division below and it might take a couple more years before he gets the team that he needs, he's got about 75% of it now I'd say.

The problem is the remaining 25% needed (2 or 3 players) is what's going to cost the most money

The boardroom either want it or they don't, if they don't Wilder will get fed up of it and want to try his luck at a club that means business.

A Leeds failure this season (for example) could mean Wilder is gone

l doubt many fans would view a genuine investment in a couple of quality players as a loss. if we had a near miss on promotion. (We'd get the "it wasn't enough" brigade however much we spend). I'd like to think Wilder would want to have another go.

The problem will arise if - whether we spend heavily or not - we end up in mid table and the bids start coming in for our better players.

Either way, we have to spend now, and spend again next summer.

Funding wise, we're totally in the dark about what's happening.

Half season tickets just gone on sale by any chance?

It's a pretty generic rallying call which suggests only what we all hope will happen. Wilder's targets signed and cash input from the owners. Wouldn't have expected anything else and certainly nothing more specific.

I believe that funds will be made available to CW in January, I think KM will have seen enough to roll the dice, as to TP I am not sure. We just need to be in the mix come January.
