Injury watch

Given the insane number of injuries we've had all season it's a miracle it's taken this long for them to bite

Unfortunately I don't see any end to it

Nor I, really. It's a vicious circle because the less players you have to rotate, the more injuries you're going to incur due to the lack of rotation options.

We have 9 games between now and the World Cup break with nobody (Anel aside) due back imminently.

If Berge is injured it's likely to be his knee. They don't tend to be short-term lay-offs.

I think we're in for a rough few weeks now, to be honest. If we can remain in the top six and within reasonable striking distance of the automatics then I will be pretty content.

Such a shitshow.

No surprise too many games in a short time for Berge. He probably would have been rested if we had enough fit bodies with another on Saturday.

Sanders injury is because he was fouled. Nothing to do with playing 90
Slightly gaulling to have Beale say afterwards it probably was a foul.

Billy slots away the pen and we settle for a point.

Frustrating because although they can put it down to 'a good away performance' I can't really make a case that they deserved to win given we had 20+ shots, 9 corners to 3 and 65% possession. Many games you'll see those stats against you and you'll be taking a 4-0 home.

So we lose Sander for a bit with the indignation that he didn't even get a pen for when he was fouled.

Sander was pulling the defenders shirt as much as the defender was pulling Sanders shirt. Saw the replay straight after the incident. No pen.
I guess the key point on this one is that Sander had the ball, Dozzell didn't. Why would Sander intentionally run the ball out? Would he have done that I'd he wasn't being fouled? I think that's the question you have to ask.

Well doesn't sound good on Baldock and in particularly Sander.
Initially I thought it may not have been a pen. But given their player has both hands on his shirt and the intention is to just pull Sander back its a foul. Doesn't matter that sander has one on his for me Sanders intention is to get forward and cross.
Bogle hopefully off to tired legs.

Hecky said Anel might be back for Stoke before QPR let's bloody hope so.

Might have to be 4 at the back.

How many shots on target not many 1 clear cut i believe
how many corners did we threaten at none
That’s down to the away team - They were better than us
Without the ball and with the ball

Egan had his customary 50p header 20ft over the bar unmarked. An absolute joy to watch him head it over the bar from 10 yards out unopposed, he's an absolute master at such a difficult skill. I wonder if anyone who's coached him since he first learned to kick a ball thought to mention that when attacking its often much more beneficial to head the ball down or at least under the white thing with netting.

The stats might look OK but in reality QPR deserved to win that as much as any opponent at BL is likely to this season

They always carried a threat, the first team to do so this season, and their centre halves were excellent

But with a full team out I still think we win. That we've dropped these points as soon as our first 11 is seriously compromised is not a good sign. Because there'll be harder games shortly, and the injuries are here to stay this season, and probably as long as PH is here

Are today's players all made of biscuits ? I just don't buy this "too many games" bullshit - what better way to stay match fit than play matches ? If you're worried about tiredness , go easy in training.
Try a manual labour job for 50 hours a week ... Then you can tell me you're tired.

There is a Norweigen cookie called fattigmann apparently. 😄

To get to the final of a men’s tennis Grand Slam event , the players have to play 7 matches over a two week period .

These typically last around 3 hours , although many go on for much longer . This requires a minimum of 21 hours play over a two week period . They are often played in temperatures around the 25-30 deg. mark or higher and by definition , when play is in progress the contestants are directly involved in every single second of the match .

By contrast , in a typical 2 week period professional footballers would normally be required to play a maximum of 5 games , totalling a mere 7 and 1/2 hours , in matches where the ball is only in play for around 65% of the time and in which their direct involvement is much less .

The above is not in any way intended as a criticism of our players and staff or those of any other club , but it has puzzled me for many years as to why this should be the case and in particular , why the greatest exponents of the game can sustain this hugely demanding regime until well into their late 30’s , or in the case of Roger Federer , the age of 41 .
