In the summer - which player would you sign?

But what if our season continues in this upward trajectory and Nigel gets poached?

Head says Cody for potential, Brayford for his immediate impact.

I said that when he got the job. If he does crap he'll get the sack, if he does well he'll go somewhere better.

But, and it's a Dawn French sized-butt, after the start he has had the board would face fan-meltdown if they let Clough go.
He wouldn't get a top job anyway. Mid championship side at best. Someone like Blackburn, Leeds, Middlesbrough etc.
We have just as much potential as that lot, if the board actually backs the manager for the first time in however many years.
Big big questions will be asked if we let Clough go. Nigel is clearly a very loyal type of person, so if he leaves with us doing well it's going to flag up "BOARD SCREWS THE CLUB AND FANS OVER" yet again.

If you're reading this Mr Phipps et al, be very very careful before you make any such decisons at any point in the future!

Good point pal,out of every signing we could make lets make sure we keep clough, hes priority then hell sought the rest out his self

Interestingly reading the BBC Sport article on Vincent Tan, Brayford was singled out as one of “the bad transfers we did in the summer” which may mean that his return to Cardiff may not be a long one.

That said he is a Championship player at least and lots of teams would be in for him in the summer, but if we can get the right deal in first you never know!

Thing is mate, you can bet Brayford will have seen Tan's comments, so will Nigel, so if our manager isn't already planning how to pull off the coup of the season (at least for us) then I'll be mightily surprised

The players are clearly loving it at our club at the moment. The Beard and Coady are particularly demonstrative in showing their enjoyment. I think both would love to stay if the sums can be made to add up. Of course, they would expect to be in the Championship within 12 months, rightly so. It's up to SU to show them we mean business by recruiting players fit to play in the same team. We are doing OK with that one: I ❤️ Scoogs.

How about Maguire is sold to chelski for £5mill + and we get to keep Brayford?

How about we keep Maguire AND buy Brayford? We're meant to have financial resources so it's now down to the intentions of our co-owner and whether he recognises the qualities Brayford brings to this club? The players we sign between now and the summer could save us a small fortune by the time we get to the Championship. Brayford is head and shoulders above anything in this division and probably the Championship too, so to pass on any possibility of signing him would be gross negligence and a sign that everything we've heard about 'game changing' is just verbal diarrhoea.
