... and behind George Long in the queue...

Me and Mrs M have quids in whether he drops his kebab!!

You've got me... I actually asked him how his dad was as I used to chat to him in the gym, but hadn't seen him for a while.

To be fair he's a very shy bloke which is probably the root of his problems and what's holding him back...
I guess he didn't drop his kebab then....

I've posted the same stuff about him for years now. I've met him and he IS definitely a shy lad. He seems very lacking in confidence and self-belief. And that's why he dithers to make decisions and that's why he can't bawl and shout at his defenders and get them to do what he wants and command his area. You can train all the skills you like into him - but you can't change the personality he is. And that's why he'll never make the grade as a goalkeeper.

He needs to decide (although he probably can't) how many more years he's going to waste trying to be a goalkeeper, versus having a change of career and getting himself a job that he can do well and that will look after him into old age?

If George is lacking in confidence, then whilst he may be a shy lad, you can build his confidence. You have to ask what the club psychologist is doing at this stage, to deserve his pay cheque. It's about working with George on a growth mindset i.e. to start by trying to be just that little bit more confident than he currently is, and to go from there.

Hell, Tufty if tha reads this, my qualifications are up to date, drop me a line.

He needs to come on forums and chat shit, that should look after him into old age.

Actually, you have to ask George what he is doing to earn his pay cheque. He lacks the fundamentals of a decent keeper.

That is a seriously poor post. Would you have the courage to ask him face-to-face? I have sat behind the goal for many of his games, and in my view, he has many of the attributes of an excellent keeper; he needs to improve his confidence and communication. We have had some excellent keepers over the years, and some very poor ones. He may need to move to further his career, but

Maybe he gets pissed off with two faced folk coming up to him for a friendly chat, asking about his family then straight on a forum to slag him off?

A little bit sad really don't you think? :)

Absolutely Cerberus! 23 years old and only 150 pro games, he must be able to see its all over. I imagine he'll be on minimum wage also what with another year on his contract at a Championship club.......

The original post was actually a tongue in cheek comment but feel free to be morally outraged on his behalf...

Happy Sunday.

Has he? What grade is that? 3rd choice in a League 1 team and unwanted by other clubs he's played for? A reputation for being erratic and totally unreliable? I'm sorry he hasn't made the grade. He might have assumed a job title of "goalkeeper" but he's not been able to establish himself in any football league team in 5 years of trying.

Technically he's second choice in a championship team.
