I agree with some of your points, particularly regarding different roles and instructions, it makes me chuckle when you see players coming on for oppo teams and the coaches showing them a tablet or a clipboard going through loads of instructions. Wilder just says a couple of things and maybe points to an area of the pitch.

I disagree and think that both Fleck and O'Connell (Brighton certainly thought so) could prosper in other teams. I think Duffy is a little different because his role is more unique to us than say a conventional side playing 4-4-2 where he'd most likely be deployed as a winger again.

I can't remember seeing Egan play for Brentford but I thought McGoldrick was excellent at Bramall Lane last season for Ipswich. Obviously there are other issues to consider. With McGoldrick, we are lead to believe the travelling was impacting on his fitness.

However I stand by my opinion that our players are as good (and in some cases better)as, if not better than a lot of players in the Championship, regardless of their history. I could also point to the fact that Enda has been called up for and played for Ireland and now Freeman has had a call up. I think we're all mystified as to why Scotland would pick someone like McGinn, or even Bannan for that matter, over Fleck.

I've just been talking to a Wendy fan, I was saying how money has infected the championship in the race for the supposed Promised Land.

He told me at their last home game his kids wanted some sweets at half time, so he went to get some " packet of Haribo's please" that will be £ 6 sir .

Oh and the football was shit (his words).

So I'm impressed that we have not gone down the spend spend spend route, despite many on here clamouring for it.

Regarding wages the team of CW and AK deserve to be on a huge wage as they have created a team that many would see as worth 40/50 million from players costing less than 10 million.

Interesting thread starter, what does our team look like they are worth ?

Incidentally Sheffsteel , I think Norwood is different gravy and should walk into any Championship side that knows anything about what a good player is. I think he'd be one that could also easily play in the Prem quite comfortably. As far as I'm concerned, Fulham and Brighton's loss is our gain.
:)

As SteveBlade has said a few times we're right good at football.

We get in to positions to create high quality chances, sometimes we don't take the chances and in this league we get punished.

Is there room for improvement?
Is the sky falling when we don't win?

There is always going to be frustration if we dominate a game like last night and fail to win but is it worth being so reactionary that the good stuff is dismissed in favour of a few negatives?
