I am well aware of Duterte's war on drugs, thank you, which is why I was able to pick you up on your nonsense about cannabis. Though the way the UK press reports on it, I can genuinely believe that people back home do actually think you can be shot for that.
You know exactly what I was getting at with my comment. I wasn't suggesting that the UK should model all of its decisions on the Philippines, as well you know. My point was that striking is a luxury that many people don't have and people would do well to remember that. Maybe I should have spoken about nurses, who are criminally underpaid for the work they do and yet they never strike.
I'm not a fan of strike action, my views were formed at Uni during the early part of the last decade when the fire service were at it, and cemented by living in London for 6 years where the RMT seemed to call strike action every other week, usually about more money and holiday for already handsomely rewarded tube drivers. They have a disproportionate amount of power, in my opinion.
We aren't exactly talking about children losing limbs and forced labour here, are we? It's about "work-life balance" according to Mick Cash. Yet they choose to work in an industry that requires work to be done on 7 days of the week. I've always worked in the gambling industry, out of choice, and surprise surprise I have to work a lot of Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays when the football and racing is busiest. Boo fucking hoo. They always pick the busiest days to cause maximum disruption and to fuck with everyone else. Cunts.
