Not sure how we didn’t score, but at least the football world saw how brave in play we are, and what a bunch of cunts they are.
 
It's amazing how quickly it has turned. They finished top 6 twice, and were talking about automatic promotion the season we got promoted. Now they're playing for nil-nil draws against us.

I don't mind the result - when it comes to derbies, a draw suits me fine. But at least try to win the game.
 
They will obviously be a lot happier with this than us. For all the possession and dominance we created little. Sure, we missed a penalty but we're so slow building up and they defended pretty well. Put the fact it's a derby to one side, that's majorly disappointing. 2 points dropped.

Sad to have to agree, that’s 5 points from 5 games and only 3 goals scored.

Fleck and Duffy need to drive into the penalty area more, both are excellent running with the ball. Too many times they stop, turn around, fuck about for three or four seconds and then pass it wide to Stevens or Freeman.

But a draw is not the end of the world, I really think we are more likely to beat them away from home

The conditions didn't help but we look so far in front of them.I can't imagine having to pay out money to watch their performance against Norwich and against us.
I guess you have to park the bus against the better teams they really offer nothing just desperate and clogging football.

I think they call it a manager playing for his job...

I stand by what I said about Wednesday getting hammered - if they play like they did against Norwich it'll be a turkey shoot.

But they didn't

For me, it's told us what we already know about football in this division.

First goal matters.

You can see now why Six Fingers wants the Wednesday job; add your Winnalls, Hoopers and FFs to that sorry display and you could win a lot of games at this level incredibly.

I hate that football but it's McCarthy's stock in trade.

United need a striker who can get goals out of nothing. and McCabe needs to back Tufty in January.

Extremely frustrating for us, but it must be pretty shit being one of them right now and the height of their ambition being a draw. Must be some extreme mental gymnastics going on over at S6 to reconcile that with their superiority complex. "Bigger, older, better....but playing for a draw".

I'm reluctant to criticise us when there are so many positive aspects to our game these days. The way we play football at times is wonderful to watch, but even with the great season we've had so far you're left with the nagging feeling that we could and should have more points and be top.

Shout outs for Duffy, Norwood, Fleck and Stevens who I thought were excellent. To be fair there weren't any bad performances.
 
To be fair to many on Owlstalk, they're actually suitably embarassed by what they saw.
 
Oh, and Wilder rustled their jimmies a treat with his interview after the match.

Same here mate. Been saying this since the game finished. Many fellow blades (me included) are annoyed we didnt stuff them. Meanwhile, the pigs will be cracking open the bubbly over just not losing.
 
Just spoke to old man and we’ve both just said that for them to score we’d have had to get the ball ourselves and walk it into our own net. Embarrassing for them. They will dress it up as a victory though.
 
They can't fight like that every game week in week out they would knackered.

Scotland’s first choice midfielder looked fucking wank today. I like the fact that we don’t have Fleck going and getting injured but surely there’s a one legged Scottish donkey better than Bannan.

I also reckon we should sign Fletcher as a backup centre half as he did a decent job for them tonight.
 
That was an absolute embarrassment from Wednesday. All I’m hearing off them is they were the underdogs and we should embarrassed for not scoring.

How may times have we been the underdogs in a derby? Have you ever seen us defend like that.

Weren’t Wednesday the underdogs under megson, look what happened then.

That was as close as an absolute slaughter that you are going to see.Only one footballing side on the pitch a cowardly non football performance by the other.
 
This from an Owl colleague: We set up for 0-0, but I'm ashamed and embarrassed by that. Never want to see another derby like that. Totally outclassed tactically and with the ball. Unbelievable that ended goalless.

The sort of guy that helps me not hate Wendy fans, to be honest.

And those on Owlstalk up in arms about Wilder's post-match comments can't see that they're aimed at his own board.

"Look over the road at what they've spent and are doing with it (if anything), then compare that with what little you've spent and what I'm doing with it".
 



I was astounded at How wednesday fans could celebrate that. Because Jos has now managed 2 derbies & with tactically zero interest of winning either & has somehow managed to be more negative 2nd time around. I compared it to Celtic v rangers. 2 rangers bosses have lost their job for parking the bus. I know few fans i know weren't happy. 1 actually replied with "i hope we can more attacking football like you"
