Because I reckon his team played today like he knows they can, and he stuck with them. I couldn't fault any of them today, and came out of the Lane with a massive smile on my face because that was the most convincing win I've seen for a long time.
Lets hope this is the confidence boost we need to really kick start our season!

Hear hear. Not an Adkins fan but credit where it's due. Second half today was by far the best we have played this season and a pattern of play is gradually emerging. We are still at least 2 or 3 players short but if we are able to address our obvious shortcomings in the JTW then maybe there's still hope.

He deserves the benefit of the doubt. Rome wasn't built in the day and there'll be plenty more blips on the way, but he's built promotion sides on a number of occasions before. He has the track record.

There'll be a few more ups and downs but in a very pressured situation he's been pragmatic enough to change things when they weren't working. Not all managers are capable of doing that.

Maybe his teams do get better in the second half of the season? I hope that is the case!

Credit to him for turning the tide and hopefully he is still allowed to strengthen the squad in January.

He said recently the training programme they have is geared towards being fitter in the 2nd half of the season so here's hoping.

I'm more happy for the lot that matter, US LOT, THE FANS.

As happy as i am for Adkins for getting a decent win and a decent performance (from what i've read), it raises a couple of issues:
- Why did it take so long for him to figure out?
- What have the team of leaders been playing at for 6 months?!?

I understand that Adkins has had a few injuries, he's brought a number of players in, then dropped them, then brought them back again, but players like Coutts and Long were almost dismissed by him and in Coutts' case he has looked like the best midfielder for a while, yet he's always been the first one to be subbed, which can't have helped with his confidence.

We can say that we're on a mini run now and hopefully it continues, but we still need to be cautious, its still the only game we've performed in this season.

Long had a confidence issue which has been addressed by playing him in the under 21s
Coutts has taken time to get fully fit after a really bad injury which also knocked his confidence to get stuck in and has been eased back
Brayford has taken time to get fully fit
Edgar had also been u fit after returning from duty with Canada
Hammond is now nearing full fitness and proves what he brings to the table
Sammon lost form and confidence but proved in the second half yesterday that when used correctly he is an asset

Yesterday was the first time that all the above issues had been addressed and we got our reward

The Peterborough game is very important and could shape the rest of our season.

I remember a few weeks ago, post Shrewsbury, that many could not see us getting more than a couple of points by this time.. With every result since I can't help have that same thought... the next game is very important, I think I will be thinking the same about Colchester away, whatever the score against Peterborough..
