IFollow: Hows it going?

What a poor service where else do you buy a sports subscription and you are forced to choose between video or commentary then when on Sky it is not available .I won't renew next season it is a joke video with no sound or sound with no video .

I caught the Milwall game on iFollow. The difference in quality were startling - They get multiple angles, replays and live commentary with the video. I suspect the main issue with the United feed/audio is BBC Radio Sheffield and rights connected to it.

Doesn't explain the new issue if 'one or the other', but could explain the lack of RS on iFollow's video stream. The whole thing is mental tbf. Seems like such a no brainer to sort.

Millwall game was international tv game hence not just single camera like most games.

It was on iFollow in certain countries though - that's how I saw it, via a stream. Take your point though re: the cameras. They still had real time coms and it wasn't the SKY/BeIN coms either. Sounded like a local radio guy, on his own.

There is a very simple way to watch it from any location and not pay. Until they shut it down that is.
It's been perfect all season up to now.
Agreed. However I’d already paid for ifollow before I got that option

Listened to Keith Edwards on a ship ofg the nothern-most coast of Norway ( and Europe). Absolutely mind boggling and such a privilege.

Back in the day when we were teenagers we had to get across Majorca island to a pub in Palma just to hear the results coming in on some sort of CB radio? Times change alright.

When I've been on holiday...

I've found it to be fine - watching on a laptop with HDMI cable into the telly. Tends to get a bit jerky in the second half occasionally.

My one gripe - they have video on one tab and comms on another. Every other broadcaster in the world is capable of overlaying the two - so why can't ifollow?

I questioned IFOLLOW on why they couldn't marry the video and commentary lie every other paid sports subscription in the world. They answered it is offered but it is up to each individual club what they offer video and commentary or video and just crowd background sound..Looks like the Blades just went with video and background noise.A bizarre choice by our club.Leave the room and you have no idea if the score changed .Unbelievable in 2017 that the service has this problem pay for video or commentary!

Phone app was a bit shite today - app kept closing for no apparent reason. Back on the PC and the usual 2nd half problems persist - frame rate judders and the lack of coms and pictures at the same time.... Great result mind.

I have given up with it now. I have tried loads of different vpn's and the streaming is absolute shite.
every goal today against Sunderland, frozen screen and didn't see any of the goals. May aswell have just put a fiver in the shitter and pulled the flush

I couldn't even get the audio commentary.

Said it before and I'll say it again - pile of shite and a complete rip off and it is the responsibility of the clubs who signed us up to FUCKING SORT IT OUT OR FUCK EM OFF !

Mine was useless the other day. Couldn’t get hardly any signal in the BLUT, and then when I did, it said I wasn’t able to watch in my location!

Clearly it didn’t know what it was talking about, and I was able to watch, but it was an unusual camera angle high up behind the goal, and I could only get it to work once I switched my phone to “Camera” mode.

And still no commentary!!!

(Great to be back, if only temporarily - and I’m still jet lagged, hence the 4am post!)

For me the crowd background noise is two or three seconds behind so it’s quite funny anticipating the cheers and jeers..although the commentary would be awful with that sort of lag.
The whole broadcast is also a minute two behind live events which makes hard to simultaneously check scores or follow the moaners on shoutbox without risking a spoiler.
No complaints really though. Am enjoying the luxury of watching every game.

Stream is good, but crowd noise the whole season has been about 3-5 seconds behind.

The most annoying thing - which isn’t I-Follows issue - is the cameraman at the Lane and his insistence to zoom in so close. I’m guessing it’s the same guy who’s been doing it for years as its always been the same issue with our own footage....

So if you are the lane cameraman and you’re reading this - PLEASE ZOOM OUT! - it would be great to see more than a square 10 yards of the player in possession of the ball, especially the half of the pitch closest to the south stand.

Not many complaints from me lately as I'm used to the shitty UX by now (how many clicks to get to the match?!), but for the Sunderland match I wasn't able to have the video stream in one browser tab and the audio in another. This has worked before.

Agree on the camerawork, prime example being Stearman's goal where the cameraman zoomed in on Duffy and the wall, and we couldn't see what was going off in the area. Maybe the guy appealing for offside in vain was right...we'll never know as it wasn't captured on camera.

I have found that using google chrome browser, video is jumpy and laggy, i then switched to using internet explorer and it has been great since.

Strangely, when we see the highlights on Sky and Blades Player it looks better quality and better camerawork than the picture from ifollow

The quality's probably to do with the transmission method, you need a hell of a lot of processing power and bandwidth to stream something live, for highlights there's more time available to render a decent image. Camerawork's an entire different issue obv

I couldn't get to the Sunderland match or today and not been able to get ifollow commentary on either.

Has anyone had the same experience or, if you've managed to get it please describe the procedure you followed.
