Aw that's scuppered my Sunday morning viewing plans, I may have to reassess my sleeping patterns o_O

... & there's no Sunday morning lie ins around here, the goats are bleating for their breakfast from first light !

Thinking about getting this but some games will be . in the early hours. Will it be possible to record the stream to watch later?

Someone said earlier that the Ifollow recording is not available until midday GMT the next day which is Sunday 9 or 10pm in Queensland...I cant wait that long!

So, recording the stream may be the answer for those of us this side of the planet ...I'm not much good with computers but a quick google search shows that there looks to be free software available to download to do this type of thing, but does anyone have experience with any of these?

https://www.movavi.com/support/how-to/how-to-capture-streaming-video.html
https://www.apowersoft.com/record-live-streaming-video.html

Might just need to wake up to set the computer up, go back to bed then watch the recording in the morning !

I tried it some months ago but couldn't get it too work. Although I think this was HD content which is encrypted. I would try doing further research on particular products, see how others went on. Of course capturing video content on YouTube etc is very easy. But it's the live stuff that I haven't yet mastered.

Sounds like this could be beyond my meagre computer skills but I'll give it a go...

Not sure why it takes Ifollow 17hours or so from after the game finishes to making it available on demand? I can understand it would take time to edit the highlights but the full game surely should be available to put on the website almost straight away? This happens on the free to air TV channel here in Aus that shows international football games from other time zones that are overnight here, so it can't be that hard to do.

Ifollow could lose a few customers in time zones like Aus/NZ due to this time delay in making on demand available. I'll send them an email.

What it means is those clubs have not subscribed to the serviice so you cannot subscribe to those clubs. You van still watch matches against those clubs when the ckub you have subscribed to play them.

Has this been confirmed?

Has this been confirmed?
Yes. It is all League matches (not league cup matches) except those that are on Sky or selected for the 3 pm international coverage. There are 11 clubs who haven't signed up to ifollow but they can still stream matches through their own systems. It doesn't affect games against these teams.

It means that in the first batch of fixtures our games at home to Walsall, away to Middlesborough, at home to Barnsley and away to the Pigs won't be available. Most of Leeds' games will also be unavailable.

I follow Blades too. Nowt to do with technology. I'm just a bit weird. I like to watch them and smell their hair if I can get close enough. Lovely stuff.

Right let's clear up a few things about ifollow. Friend of mine in the States has successfully signed up he lives in Nevada. The application was smooth but detailed. If you live in the UK you will not get it. If you live in the UK with a vpn you will not get it so don't waste your money.

Why not you ask, right here goes.

Your address has to be an overseas address, if your application is from say the USA all details have to refelect this

Your payment method has to be and overseas card (not UK)

Your billing address has to reflect where the bank or the card company know you at.

Your mobile number is required and it has to be a non uk mobile number

There you have it so unless you fulfill all this criteria you will lose your money because it is non refundable I believe if you break the terms and conditions. So don't risk it sign up for the cheap radio broadcast as a UK resident.

Has anybody subscribed yet? Do you have to enter personal details like address etc? Wondering if this will be a problem for billing etc regardless of IP address?

Cheers

Theyve been accepting uk registered bank cards. Plenty have already done it.....My vpn works fine with it....... iv also looked at the ifollow page source code. (How its built and security). There is only 1 line that says geoblocked. Either pass or fail. There is no measures inplace in ifollow website source code to actively block vpn's.

My works pc has a foreign IP address and it only gave me the €130 option. Fair enough it doesn't work but seeing as there was only one option they can refund me.

I asked them because of amount of time I am in and out of country. Could have used a spanish card but preferred to use uk one. Was told uk one would be ok (although did put Spanish phone number). Was told would not be able to watch in UK but would still get commentary but thats been outlined above.

Would say their confirmation emails are confusing. I did mine in Spain on Spanish network. When not in uk there is only one option - you cannot opt to take commentary only which I thought they would.

This might be a simple question having signed up to IPlayer.
Can anyone advise if this has totally replaced Blade player and will we get the radio Sheffield commentaries.
Thank you in advance.

Does this come from insider knowledge or are you speculating about how iFollow will handle the situation of U.K. address / phone number used to register overseas type account?

It would be easy for them to identify and block such accounts but that doesn’t mean that they will. I doubt they care too much about any lost revenue for Sky / gate receipts.

Saying all that, I’m going to wait until the start of the season to see what actually happens in practice.

If you go to the old Bladesplayer address www.player.sufc.co.uk it redirects now to the main site where Ifollow is the only option, so I'm pretty sure it is the replacement. I was wondering about the live game commentaries as well.

I think you are very wise to wait. My friend had no problem signing up from the States but he did contact them prior to signing up and he was told to make sure he had read the terms and conditions carefully and that he was indeed in the US. Reading the terms and conditions there is nothing to stop them terminating the service (and they state that) if they think you do not meet all the criteria. When he went on the site, the site knew where he was because it requested payment in US$ and having said that this would indeed be the case if using a vpn (free vpns can carry malware so watch that one) The other things it specifically requested was the billing address and that only gave him the option to input a US address where the credit card knew him at. There was no option to change this to say a UK or French or German billing address. He was told that would be the case and therefore if in Germany it would specifically request a German billing address. So if you are in Sheffield using a top of the range vpn set to the US and it asks for your billing address it will be a US billing address that your card provider knows you at and of course you cannot provide that only a UK one with no UK option.

You can input a UK mobile number. Of course my friend input a US mobile number. Now all these things can be checked once the season is underway and they could pull the plug on you if they think you do not fit all the criteria. My friend having satisfied all the requirements is in no fear of that. Like I say sit back wait until half a dozen games have gone and if the people that have signed up from say Sheffield say its all ok then sign up....BUT if they say otherwise don't do it. This is common sense and I feel there are going to be a lot of disappointed people who are turned off and without any chance of any refund as per the terms and conditions

Yes I went down that route, but there is no sign of anything similar to B/P re match day commentary.
Any way as you are on the same lines I am consoled by your comments.
Thanks

No, there's no Live link or whatever it was called before, maybe it will appear when the season starts. I can now get Radio Sheff FM on freeview where I live, so provided the game is not on AM it's less of a thing for me now than you, if you're in Kent.

My yearly subscription expires soon and I had an email to say it won't auto-renew this time, so I'm still deciding whether to manually renew or not bother.

Will be no chance of getting it on Freeview down here.
Need the Iplayer for the commentary and will be relieved when I see it for the Brentford game, unless I make the 420 mile journey to the game.

I signed up from Portugal but used a U.K. Mobile and U.K. Address as I spend a lot of time in both countries. I can easily give them my Portuguese address and bank account, but the site did not specify it required these. I did of course pay in Euros. Time will tell, but if they pull the plug I may well have a pop at them in court :)

This iFollow is a bit of a mess the transition has been terrible imo.

Don't even know if my subscription has renewed etc. I'll have to take a proper look at it this week

So is this Ifollow deffo gonna be able to be used through VPN as every away match and home match is a fantastic offer for just over £110
