Would you take a defeat this weekend? More to the point do you actually want us to lose this weekend? Or would you prefer to see us win and start to climb the table even though it may mean hanging on to him through the transfer windown and to the end of the season?

I'd love for Blackwell to become the most succesfull United manager ever.
However it isn't going to happen.

I would never want us to lose though, but he still needs to go.

Nope, I go to every match hoping we win.

No matter the personnel involved, I support Sheffield United.

I haven't staked all my points on us winning for nothing you know.:D

Win because we need points. Winning well would be nice, but not expecting it.

If I KNEW it would lose him he job, I wouldn't be disappointed with loss, but I'd still be happy with a win.

Another draw akin to the Dingles would be the worst possible result.

The reason I have grown to despise Blackwell is because he has progressively turned my favourite 90 minutes of the week into a chore. Seeing us lose is not something I like doing so NO I don't want to see us lose this Saturday BUT should it happen and he is shown the door it will ease the pain more than a little.

I always want us to win.

Well, unless defeat might relegate the Pigs and not affect us in any way...

In answer to your first question Bladesway, it is a resounding YES!

The second one is much more tricky. Of course I never want United to lose. It is always painful, but if it's the final nail in the coffin then so be it. In fact fuck it, I don't care if we lose. I just want him gone. Taking a stepo back and looking at the bigger picture I think the worst thing that could happen is that we win a few games, Blackwell keeps his job until January and is given some money to spend. Other bad alternatives are he wins a few games, isn't given money, but still hangs on to his job to the end of the season and we face mid table mediocrity.

I want us to win. I don't like Blackwell, but if he can get us playing well and winning there's no problem.

Don't agree with what you say but appreciate your honesty. I want us to win every match no matter who is in charge. Whether I am right or wrong about a manager, team or anything else isn't important. Winning and winning well.......bloody hell theres a distant dream.

That said, I did say if you knew he would go so its slightly different. :)

"That said, I did say if you knew he would go so its slightly different."

That does make a difference.

If KM came out tomorrow, rather than being transformed into the headmaster in a lords presidential position instead of Turry, and said:

"OK, Blackie. P45's on the table, lose tomorrow and it's in your hand" then YES that would do it for me.

Exactly what i would have said.

We can all speculate and give our opinion, but it's not our jobs to say who is in charge and how long they are given, that's McCabe's job and given where we were when he came in, he's not done a bad job so far.

Blackwell's the boss, The squad is better than a lot of others - when fit, and us as fans can make such a difference. So get behind them and get on with what our job is with regards to the club, and support the 11 men on the pitch regardless of who they are or who they are managed by.

If results don't go right, then McCabe will replace the manager, and we'll move on. Until that time, get behind them and lets get back up the League!

If tomorrow's result has any influence on Blackwell's future at Bramall Lane then I hope we get well and truly hammered.

Crackin username....awful post.

Anyone that hopes 'we get well and truly hammered', should never call themselves a Blade.

That just misses the point. How far have we got when Blades (and I'm not going for the bullshit "so called" in front) would actually want us to lose in order for the manager to be relieved of his position? Pretty desperate I would say.

No-one knows what the outcome of changing manager today, next week or not until 2015 will be, but it is quite clear that there are plenty who have seen enough of what is happening at present, regardless of whether that means their entire lives are a morass of negativity or whether they are long overdue anger management classes.

Looking back to that desperate day when we were relegated to the 4th, that defeat was the springboard for bouncing back. Without the relegation would the next three seasons have seen us return to the second tier or would it have seen further stagnation until the club died on it's feet?
Once again we don't know BUT I wouldn't have swapped the season in Div4 for another bore fest in Div3.

Sometimes it needs bad things to happen in order for a clearing of the decks. The fact that some people are at that stage now is a sadder reflection on the club than on them (in my opinion of course!).

Its ok can't be talking about united, the team he is talking about are playing tomorrow by the looks.

Absolutely spot on, which is why I'm still undecided if I'm going to bother turning up on Saturday. I don't want to see us lose but I don't want to have to endure Blackwell any longer than I have to.

WTF!?

Awful post in your opinion. I thought it was perfectly fine. In fact I thought your patronising post of 'get behind the lads, lets have a clap, question nothing, Blackwell is god etc' was awful. Your second post is even worse!?

As for the second point. Who the fuck are you to say who is a Blade or not? you know nothing about chips and cake and his commitment to united! Your impersonation of a self rightous arsehole is second to none!?

Excellent. That's the first time i've been described as self-rightous.

a) My original post, i believe, related to what i believe Blades fans are all about. Getting behind the team and making a difference. Which is what made me fall in love with this club, back in the 80's. To be attacked for that, just shows how our fan base has changed, and why the number of boo boys at games has increased.

b)I don't deny anyone an opinion on anything to do with United, that's our right as fans, and forums like this are the place to do it.

c) Blackwell is far from god, and i don't believe i stated that as so. Things aren't going right clearly, and i believe i stated that i would personally give him 6 games, with a fitter squad, before jumping off the fence to whichever side. This is only my opnion, anyone else has a right to agree or disagree.

c) In my oipnion, you support the club to win, not to lose, no matter what the situation is. It seems that plenty of posters would rather see us lose so that their rants on internet forums can be justified.

As someone else said on another post, Grecian2000?, this is a very sorry state of affairs, when supporters would see their team lose to get someone the sack.

The only thing that Blackwell getting sacked would solve is the number of repeated inane posts like this around the same old subject, followed up by vitriol just because you don't agree.

By all means disagree, thats fine. My opnion is that anyone who wishes that 'we get well and truly hammered' is going way over the top. Fair enough maybe to say he's not a Blade was harsh, i'll admit to that. But that viewpoint in itself just goes to show how fans think these days compared to what fans used to be like.

Is this another result of the Sky Culture. The success within a month mentality that exists throughout football these days?

Finally, if being attacked in the way you did for what i said is going to be main stay of the forum from now on, i may have to take a sabbatical like Silverfox did. If you thought that to question the guy's commitment was wrong then state that without getting personal and aggressive. May i suggest something like...'C'mon Pal. That was a bit harsh. He may want us to lose, but to suggest he's not a blade was out of order'. A response such as that would have been far more constructive, do you not think? You're probably a nice bloke, but i just think the current divide between fans regarding our current plight is creating a lot of tension, and this is genuine evidence of that.

Hope that puts a seal on things. Bring on Peterborough! UTB

I never want to see united lose so a good day saturday would be. We play out a 1-0 win with Peterborough, play awful, get battered for 90 mins, still get the 3 points with a load of injured players back, a good squad of 18, play hoof ball and blackwell maybe just maybe, might still get the boot.

Dont want us to lose on Saturday for the main reason that I am taking my son Sam, (6) to his first ever game at BDTBL.

Same as many, I guess. Never want United to lose - never want them to do anything but win comfortably - but if we do and it results in Blackwell's departure (one way or another) then it will soften the blow a little.

In fairness your giving him a run for his money here.

Yes, I am joking but I just wanted your blood to boil for that split second.

>Is this another result of the Sky Culture
it has nothing to do with this.. or part time fans or any of that malarkey that is banded around on a regular basis here.. when things go wrong some people will start to question the leaders ability.. whilst others will toe the line.. it has happened right through history.. suggest you watch the cain mutiny (humphry bogart).. imagine the ship as sheff utd.. what do you do .. go down with it or stand up for yourself?

Only been going t' Lane for 53 years and on top of that you can throw in about 1500 away games, but of course I should never call myself a Blade. Blackwell is destroying my team and I will put up with anything that will quicken his departure. One step back to take two steps forward. I repeat, if it were to mean Blackwell losing his job then I hope we get thrashed on Saturday.

Respect you for sticking by your guns. Also as said in my response to Ollesandro, maybe to question you as a Blade was a bit harsh, so i apologise for that.

Thanks, appreciated. As usual it's all about opinions and we just happen to have different ones on this matter.
