IF we had a goalscorer

The OP is right tgough we were crap but that could and should have been a 4-0 game. That said we were very unlucky to hit the voodwork twice and a few decent save from 1their keeper.

What we're lacking at the minute is some control of the ball. Without meaning to criticise Peck at all, we're missing Arblaster for the calmness he provides. When we actually get our attacking threats on the ball we look dangerous. We've had a third of the possession but twice the shots. Goals will come if we can get on top of teams.

We do need a clinical finisher next to Moore, I'd love to see a cannon/sharp type player up top for O'hare.

I'm not knocking our points etc, but we could be better. Brooks and Moore chances would have been gobbled up by a finisher tonight.

Nothing wrong with being happy with our start and points total but also wary of our lack of goals.

It's great that we're so stingy at the back so far but it's evident that we don't have finishers.

It's an obvious observation, not a criticism.

Hopefully we can persuade BBD to come back in on loan in January, when Southampton decide he’s shit

Is interesting. One of our players hasn't scored in 2 games and none of our forwards has scored in 7.

However we're third in the league, unbeaten and have 6 clean sheets so who's worried 😉

Because we've imposed such unnecessary attacking limitations on ourselves, it would be a good outcome if we could be within 6 points of 2nd in January. I think we can just about manage that. But if we want to get up it's very important we then recruit well

Cannon scoring 4 tonight is odd but can anyone honestly say any of our forwards would be capable of scoring 4 in a game?
Leon Clarke did 😏

BBD and McBurnie back on loan in January and no departures and I’d be confident we’d be over the line by mid-March!

I repeat moores shit. lol. People laughed aswell 😂. Poor mans mcburnie end of

I still think we're missing a trick not having hamer in the 10 position, he's the one who tries and plays the killer passes but he's a passenger out on the left wing for most of the game.

For me I'd try and stick him there for a game and have brooks and rak-sakyi on the wings and get them running at the full backs.

Seems to me we're pissing it without one. Don't see the issue.

When you move on:

Mcburbie
BBD
Archer
Osula
Traore

And spend £1.6m and a lad released from Stoke I think your goalscoring is going to be heavily reduced.
Yes what we've give now to have Traore back smashing goals in for us.

It's a suitable striker we need. But also just more time to master the new formation. Striker is often isolated or detached from the wingers. Overall it's working as we're getting results, but it will probably need to work even better if we're going to get promoted after 46 games.

Moore and Campbell are both very good Championship attackers.

Was more indicating our overall loss of striking options whilst bringing in large sums of money and reducing the wage bill maybe 5 fold.

Moore has 1 goal in 8 now?

He needs to improve on that ratio I'd suggest.

Fortunately the defence is seemingly tight so that's helpful.
Moore has shown he's good at a lot of things already though, despite him not really hitting form for us.

He's also contributed to two Championship promotions in recent years.

They weren't really goal scoring options though. McB maybe . So we've reduced the wage bill and got similar or better options. Still could do with a natural, score with their eyes shut, striker, but so does everyone. Swapping what we had, for what we've got was good business and we are better for it.

We would be pissing this league.
We wouldn’t, we’d probably be in the same position.

I’m not disagreeing that we could do with a bit more depth up there, but pissing the league isn’t quite accurate

We have yet to play anybody above 8th - home or away.

If you look at ucandomagic analyses, which allow for opponents and location, we are on schedule for about 88 points - so solid playoffs.

Our strength is our defence. We are outperforming our XG - so statistically it’s not our finishing but the number of quality chances that is holding us back.

UTB & FTP!

Can’t disagree, but in saying that I don’t think Kiefer Moore is getting the right service from his midfield…
O’Hare isn’t really doing it for me, and Hamer is wasted out wide.

Would this "goalscorer" also do the spadework that Moore does or would he replace one of our high-pressing midfielders? Either way I reckon he's got to be very mobile and would probably cost more than we can currently afford. Maybe if we're still up near the top in January we might splash out but so far we're making the best of what we've got - and doing better than I expected. I wasn't mad about the Wilder return but this season I think he's "managing" us pretty well.

I mean, it doesn't help that most of our players don't even have feet.
