IF we had a goalscorer

It’s not just that though is it? That’s proper simpleton chat.

Not like we’re making 7000 chances a game.

I'm saying the same thing, we're not creating chances, then when they do get one, they're not used to it, Moore hitting that post was terrible to see, he needs that one to go in more than we did..

We need to be more fearless in that final third.

They’re playing in the 18 yard box like they do just past half way.

Fucking strike the ball. Flash it across the box. Sprint at the defender. Do something.

Five clean sheets on the bounce, 13/15 points in the last 5 games.

The attacking threat is huge, just not yet hit it's straps.

We are 3rd in the league after a -2pts, not a time to be critical.

No you're correct.. it's not a time to complain at all..

But we're not winning games, we're getting very lucky...

That's my opinion..it's OK for you to differ..

I genuinely think we'll run out of luck.. we don't score goals..we're not scoring goals..

Get to the line whip it in the box, I'm with you, fast play and the element of surprise, we're starting to overplay again on the edge of the box..

What we're currently doing allows the Defenders to reset and the floated cross is headed away... Seen it before..

But as some are saying, results are speaking for themselves..

I hope we play dogshit all season and win tbh.. but you do realise, weve been very lucky so far..

As good as Burrows has been, an early cross to Moore should always be an option. But it’s not been happening for some reason.

Which games would you say we were lucky in?

We were unlucky at home to QPR and also unlucky tonight.
However "luck" can be used as an excuse because it's no coincyndance that the best teams often seem to be lucky
where as teams near the bottom often tend to be unlucky.

If we held onto a 2-0 lead against QPR we'd be top, but we didn't so it's irrelevant.

Because we've imposed such unnecessary attacking limitations on ourselves, it would be a good outcome if we could be within 6 points of 2nd in January. I think we can just about manage that. But if we want to get up it's very important we then recruit well

Cannon scoring 4 tonight is odd but can anyone honestly say any of our forwards would be capable of scoring 4 in a game?

Football is about very fine margins. Southampton got promoted last year and Birmingham got relegated, but most of their results were the same.
They both drew 9 games. They both lost 11 games. They both won 13 games.

So in 33 games they had exactly the same results.

In a couple of games Birmingham had draws instead of wins, and in about 10 games Saints had wins instead of defeats.

That’s the difference between a fantastic season with wild celebrations, and the worst outcome possible of relegation.

There are 24 teams of fairly similar level players all doing exactly the same things we’re doing with coaching, scouting, medical teams, academies, transfer deals, loans, fitness, off-field activities … etc. All trying to do everything possible to get promoted.

I think some fans’ expectations seem to be that we will dominate all other sides consistently, create lots of chances and score freely. That’s just not how it works. Being ‘slightly’ better than the opposition over a full season is what success looks like in the real world.

How do we get Moore , Brewster , Campbell , JRS , Brookes , O'Hare to look like goalscorers - is it coaching ? is it psychotherapy ? What ?
Maybe show them videos of King Keef Edwards or Deano ?
How do we look more potent at corners ? Show them videos of Woody & Addison , Tudor , Colquhoun ?
I'm ok with Wilder saying "we go with what we have" but we need to work on improving it - how much actual work is done on putting the ball in the net despite being faced by a defender ?
Our lads look like they don't know how , so let's teach 'em.
In the last 4 games we've had an OG , a nil nil , a wonder free kick by Hamer and Hull gave us two (another wonder strike by Hamer & McCallum tackled it into the net a La Basham.
The fact that our attackers can't put chances away is going to bite us in the bum pretty soon so FFS work on it.
