If we go up automatically would you want to see Wednesday win the play-offs????
I for one would purely based on the passion that our beloved city thrives on.
Sheffield needs both clubs to be thriving strongly in football terms and pushing for promotion out of our current league and into the promised land.
Steel city derby games are so passionate and generate great energy throughout the city. It would be amazing to showcase these games in The Premiership.

Partly yes - so we can see a boost in Sheffield, and Yorkshire, football, but also no because it's the pigs and I want to see them below us for a long, long time.

Hell no let them rot. UTB FTO

i have to say absolutely yes. i want them to do slightly less well than us and lose the derby every time. i have owls in my family and i miss the banter when theyre in a lower division. i want them to scrape the playoffs, then battle against relegation every yr until we're ready to go up again.

If we both go up then Sky might just notice we are a city that has derby matches as well.

Absolutely yes, nothing beats a derby game! I think they will go up via the play-offs anyway so all good.

I'd prefer to see syphilis make a come back.
I'm with you JD..I once, almost, thought that I wanted West ham to lose more than I wanted Wednesday to lose. It was though thankfully, just a phase..Of course I want Wednesday to lose every single game they play..I can't help myself but add a couple of caveats..I don't hate my Wendy mates, just their choice of team, and I even.. eeek..can accept them being in a higher division than us since that means we don't have to have a derby game..I really really do not enjoy them!.. That said, this season, I'll stick to the my first tenet, life's just simpler that way..I hope they lose every single game they play :)

I wouldn't go that far because then we would be able to have the satisfaction of being above them.

No, but in the end we'd have double the catchment. In time, we'd become a force in football. In reality, both clubs are destined to be also rans for eternity, the only compensation being a bit of pub banter.

Fair point actually.

Nope. If they came third and won the play off they'll act like its better than coming second and go on and on about it like the last magic final they won by drawing with Hartlepool. I'd rather us be a league above them any day.

Charlton are top.
Utd are second.
Wednesday are turd.

I agree wholeheartedly with you Gaz. But I always want us to be on top.

Ah but Gazblade, you're from Norwich...

Absolutely yes, nothing beats a derby game! I think they will go up via the play-offs anyway so all good.

...and Melbourne Blade is from, you guessed it.

Chaps, while respecting your opinions, I think the clue to your even-handedness lies in your geographical locations.

Trust me, if you lived in and around Sheffield, you would be fed a daily diet - from their retarded fans, from Radio Pig and The Stir - of how superior the pigs are to us. If we go up automatically, it will be totally overshadowed by the pigs' 'Countdown to Wembley' (Get the special souvenir edition of the Star, printed on blue paper with the inevitable 'Owls could have sold Wembley out twenty times over' headline).

Would I like to see them go up?

Would I fuck.

Absolutely not. Dont want them to go out of existence, just linger miserably.

We are a two club city.

What is good for one club, inevitably impacts on the other club.

A sustained spell in a higher division will see one club picking up more floater fans (and their kids) than the other one.

In short, whats bad for them, is good for us. So no.

I'd like to see them lose in the PO.

Badly. Preferably to something they can winge about. Something contriversial.

Don't worry mate, I know enough pigs round here to give me that kind of vibe, you'd be surprised!

I'm with the 95% - I want them to experience as much misery as possible. So it's a definite "no" from me. UTB FTO

Steel city derbies are always better after a few years apart.

We proved this year that we don’t really have the interest in the home derby game as our two biggest attendances in the last 12 months have been/will be Youth Cup final leg 1 and the Stevenage game tomorrow!

I’d rather the pigs stayed down to be honest. We get distracted when we’re in the same league as them and they’ve dragged us down to their level a bit in the past few years.

Barnsley, Leeds, Forest and Hull will be decent attendances and I’ll just be glad to be out of league 1.

But we’re not there yet, still a fair way off. So lets hold back on the if’s and when’s until 17:00 next Saturday!

I'd like them to get to the play off final. Then get gubbed.

But more than that, I just want us to go up. In the grand scheme of things, they really don't matter.

I want to see them go 4-0 up in the PO final by half time and then loose it 5-4. It'd be so sweet seeing their faces going from ecstatic to completely dejected

For the City, I'd like to see them follow us up via the play-offs. I was born and raised in Sheffield but I'm a first generation local so there's no steeped family dislike.

However, on account of the fact that most of their fans are obnoxious, cocky twats, subsumed by their self-proclaimed "massive-ness" and that they avoided paying their debts, I'd like to see an extended spell in the lower leagues. Just until they learn some humility.
