We have achieved the first target this season ;)

Possibly due to others having to play each other maybe we already have?

Or we just need 'arguably' one more point to be safe from relegation.

Once a blade always a blade. I'm trying to put a light hearted view on our pessimism. But we know its been bred over at least the last 40 years.

Tonight is out of our hands, but we have done enough these past few weeks to have that margin there.

I really can't see both Bolton and Scunthorpe winning. Both look devoid of confidence and seem on a downward trajectory in recent weeks.

Just looked and there's pretty much a full fixture list for tonight.

Y no Blade tho

Don't Fleetwood play Scunthorpe and Bolton in their next two after tonight? That'll make a couple of games where there's no bad result for us. Kind of hate other teams playing while we're not but as long as it's a day where nobody can go above us, I'm happy.

But no-one is bringing in Millwall and Bradford and all those other teams.
We need MOAR threads on EVERY POSSIBLE PERMUTATION .
There's always someone comes with a late run.
We need lots of threads on who that might be.
I'm worried that Chesterfield hit form. God help us.
Won't somebody think of the children?

Surely no one has gone down with 68 points ;)
No. I think if you looked at the full fixture list until the end of the season we've been safe for a while because the clubs below us have to play each other. They can't all win all their games.

You either have absolutely no idea how sarcasm works or you are a master of it.
No idea which.

If Scunny and Bolton lose tonight things will look very rosy. I can see both winning though to be honest against sides with nothing to play for.

To be honest I'm finding it quite refreshing not really worrying about other teams' results tonight - as someone said above, we've done well enough over the past few games to build a margin and it's all in our own hands now anyway.

sorry, can't agree - it's called professional pride - and just perhaps some clubs may still pay a win bonus.

Bristol Rovers are 6 points off 6th place btw with 12 games to play. Would you want Utd to give up?

Being realistic, I see them both winning, although one of those games will be a struggle

We just need to focus on our own games, the most important one of course being the next one

Then we move on to Oxford, the result of which will give me a big clue as to the likelihood of this season going to the wire or not

Doesn't mean, in normal circumstances we wouldn't.

We are Sheffield United Football club.
We are the best club in this league by a country mile
If we carry on playing like this, we will not only get promoted but also win the fucking league.
We don't need credit from also-rans like Scunny and Bolton.
We don't need favours from other team either.

Pretty much sums it up for me

We've been dominant in our last 25 matches, there's not the smallest of signs we will all of a sudden lose form
And even if we did then we have a really good subs bench to fill in.

I don't have the proof to back this up, but sure I heard that neither Bolton or Scunny have both won on the same day since early November. Which probably means they will tonight now I've mentioned it, but also shows they aren't particularly consistent.

I'm quite relaxed about it, if they win, meh. But anything else would be another boost.

I so hope Fleetwood have cemented second place in the next couple of weeks.

scunny v fleetwooid , 2 teams level on points a draw is the best result for us
bristol rovers big helping hand if they stop bolton winning tonight and scunthorpe on saturday
preferably with 2 wins
can let bolton stop fleetwoods run on saturday then

Pretty sure scunny will beat the wombles tonight. Bristol might get a point vs Bolton.

Saturday is the big day for us. One or both of scunthorpe and fleetwood will drop points, we just need to go and do our thing against Rochdale.

Amen brother,Amen.

It's unlikely that both will lose Roy but equally the 2 of them haven't won on the same day for ages.
I would also say that their opponents have plenty to play for. The Gas will be right back in the playoff mix with a win and AFC will want to get to 50 points ASAP, not to mention finishing above the plastics.

I've just bought a brizzle rovers scarf for tonight, bin tomorrow, but I'm living for tonight!!!
