Suppose they don’t see him as ready.

They’ll then send him on loan.

Did he do enough to secure a Prem loan? Not so sure.

So you’re left with an overseas one or a Championship one.

We should be at the front of the queue when it comes to PL loans as well still be one of the better wage earners.

That said I can see someone like Leeds losing Summerville and going for Archer.

Let’s face it, 6m in fees could get him Burrows, Worrall and a loan keeper and Alan Browne if he so desired and all of a sudden there starts to be some depth there.

It is still not overly clear where Archer ends up and whether there is a desire to do something there.

Jebbo seems to be half out the door which I find odd to this day given he’s been injured all season and we’ve been paying him all that time.

I’m still hopeful on Egan and McBurnie.

I still think if we can shake off the rut that came with relegation, a few new faces to refresh the team and we can readjust to this level.

I forgot about Brewster too!

The thing about keeping Anel and Souza would be they can't afford to sack it off in the Championship as they then go from being shit PL players to shit Championship players and that is going to hit them very hard in the pocket.

If the prince and tje buyers are certain that the takeover is going through and that the timeline is unclear so finances are in lockdown then keeping them until the January window makes sense

Arblaster I would say is more of a DM, he looks after the ball well and he’s a ball winner, he has qualities to be a number 8 but not at the moment, that’s definitely not his best position anyway. He suits the Norwood role

Looking at some of the teams posted in this thread I forgot we still have Davies(midfielder not keeper)

If,and its a big if, he can stay fit we have the makings of a very good championship midfield. Given it appears we can't bring anyone in then we need to keep Souza ( maybe just until Xmas) and we have a midfield of Hamer, Blaster, Davies and Souza. There won't be many better than that 4 and if RND is fit and we play wingbacks we have Bogle on the right and RND on the left.

Not the time to be panicking. The club will have a budget planned if takeover doesnt happen and i guess there'll be a cut off point (end of July??) where we have to go with that budget and start signing players (maybe one or two before then). If takeover does happen they'll be a different budget.

We all know that either scenario will see players brought in before a ball is kicked and up til the end of August. We aint going to be starting the season with the bare bones of what's left.

4/5 players will be sold too during that period.

We are in the Championship, we know from 21/22 that you can afford to mess up the first 15 games and still get to the play offs.

In an ideal world we'd have everyone signed up and sorted but it doesnt and isnt going to work like that. There's still probably 2 weeks before pre season starts, so lots can happen.

Hi, hope Davis and Brewster will keep fit .I have my doubts ,without them we will be even more threadbare .The takeover even though it's essential is happening at a rotten time as far as recruitment is concerned and could leave us well short come the start of the season . He won’t end up back at the Lane, that’s what I’m saying. He’s definitely to good enough for Villa but as it cost us a fortune to loan him last season I can’t us doing it again.

Our transfer activity aways occurs late in the window.
Given our horrendous last season , the paucity of our squad & all the takeover uncertainty , we are not an attractive proposition for potential recruits.
No point thinking about recruitment for at least another month.
Best thing is to concentrate on shifting Gbric , Anel , Souza , Traore & Slimane.
Apart from Anel , they are unwelcome reminders of last season's mistakes.
And Anel just wants out.
Pray that Brewster & RND get fit and no one meets Hamer's release fee.

I take no pleasure in saying what I’ve said, goalies union and all that. But it’s patently obvious to me that it’s not just that he hasn’t settled in. He has fundamental flaws in his technique. At his age, these can’t be trained out of him, he’s as good as he’s ever going to get.

It’s pretty damning that someone who has left to be West Ham’s waterboy is still a better option than this guy.

Actually, nothing to say that any of those are going.

Archer maybe didn't do enough for them to want him back. Souza and Anel, someone has to want to buy them and pay them what they believe they are worth.

Good chance all three could still be on our books come the start of the season looking to put good the perception of them given the season they just had. They could all do a lot worse then having a great season in the Championship, it would do their careers the world of good. I think they know it too, and despite everything if they put shifts in I think we'd welcome it.
