If Leon Clarke is the answer...

After the Brentford game when I told a pig workmates how well Leon Clarke played against Brentford he nodded and said.

"Yes he will do that, but then do nowt else for the next ten games"

Looks like he was right.

I said that when we signed him. His record in the championship is poor.

Take away Clarkes assist and we'd be on one point.

Take away Blackman's saves and we'd be on no points.

Fact is Sharp is the only player to put the ball in the back of the net, you can't take that away from him.

They've both been crap to be honest.

... what is the question?

Answers on a postcard to Mr C Wilder, Sheffield.
If you want to secure a league title in style and win 100 points who would you like to partner Sharp up front?

Seriously, we are 3 games in and in 1 of them he was arguably the best player on the pitch.

We've only played 3 games za, think you need to cut Leon some slack until we reach the 10th game.

I don't think it's about making scapegoats, I think it's about making judgements based on facts.
Taken from the BBC review before tonights game....
  • Sheffield United's Billy Sharp has scored just 12 goals in his 61 Championship appearances since the start of 2013-14 - this compared to 51 goals in 90 League One appearances over the last two seasons.
Love the bloke, but I think we need to face the facts that with BS and LC up front, we will struggle for goals.

You can look at it another way. Billy against Brentford hardly had a touch of note, but the touches he had were a goal and disallowed.

He needs to do that when provided the opportunities.

He had a golden one today, and didn't even hit the target. It was harder to achieve what he did than it was to score.

We can't have the pair up top, no movement, no running into channels, running behind defence. Not even offering it to feet.

I agree, just not sure why Clarke deserves his own thread!

That's right. It's unrealistic to have an opinion that he's had two poor games.

However, Brooks and Evans looked a different gravy when they came on.
