IF Hecky goes....

Yep back four worked well in the second half
Back fours work best when you have someone at RB. The moment Newcastle realised we didn't they started playing every ball into the gap where a RB should have been.

It's Wilder. Done deal. Ages ago
If it really is, and the knuckledraggers lap this up as some sort of homecoing Disney story, they've had the wool pulled over their eyes by the owner yet again. 'If we go down, I gave you what you wanted' absolute bollocks.

End of the day, we were a fucking shambles, but at 3-0/4-0 the games gone, the score is irrelevant from there. We didn't even have a go though.

Think Hecky will resign tbh. If not by tonight then in the morning.
Shame, but you can only work with what you have got. If the players don't want to play for Hecky anymore, there's fook all he can do about it.

No chance. The club owe him 3 years salary if we sack him.

We need a feckin miracle.

The dingle is safe with his 5yr 'YES PRINCE' contract, even though, as evidenced today, he is fxxking clueless when it comes to 'plan B'!!

TBH, I have not seen our defence this poor, not only today but in a long time.
Get rid of this 'defence' coach they brought in, he has destroyed our defenders!.
Egan may have been 'on a bit of a downward spiral' for a while!, but along with Anel's their standards have 'fallen off a cliff' since this coach came in. GET RID OF HIM, NOW.

Manager fucked up that second half is down to him. Changing to a 4 was suicidal it should have been damage limitation first and then find a way into the game

Agree. It was obvious to 30k in the ground that midfield was the problem so he sticks on Benie to play amongst the land of the giants....awful decision. By all means sacrifice a defender but bring on Slimane and push McAtee further forward.

Shocking management for the second week in a row. I'm not sure what the answer is but Hecky needs to go for me, jobs too big.

Nah, if you're blaming the formation for the lack of effort and intensity then i think you're barking up the wrong tree ..

No knee jerk reactions, were second faves to go down for a reason..

Say it quietly, were gonna come down with a right championship squad.. 😉

I don't see how we are. Archer has to be bought back if we go down, cant see us keeping many of the decent players like Souza, Hamer and Anel. Im expecing if we go down we will go back to the plan of majority of kids being thrown in. That seemed to be the plan if we didn't achieve promotion.

The first 11 is looking worse than last year already, before we account for losing any players when we get relegated. The squad is probably slightly deeper, but again could be impacted when we go down. I don't see this as being a team that automatically bounces back.

This, 100%. Players with ambition won't want to hang around in the Championship. I assume we'll get a bit of coin in for them, but we'll have another rebuilding project on our hands.

I still can't believe just how fuming I am with the fucking lot of them this morning. Shock has turned to anger for me. This wasn't a non league side going up against a PL side in the cup. Yes the margins are vast but even so it should never ever get to that stage where we lose by 8 goals to a train our league. We have enough experienced players to not let that happen. Or so we should have. The experienced pros should be hanging their heads in shame this morning. Disgraceful.

Potter's not coming in a million years. Got a huge payout from Chelsea. He's waiting for a top 10 Prem club. Can't see him living in Handsworth can you?

Which is what many were saying in 2020/21 season. But the longer it went on the more unbearable it became, with us looking like beating Derby's record.

I think Hecky has a lot of work to do. We aren't playing good football and we aren't picking up results. You could tell against most teams that we have been lucky to keep the score down as opposition have had loads of attempts on goal and huge possession. We spend huge periods of play camped around our box inviting pressure. A pasting was long overdue. The football is primitive and the effort & energy is not there. No press, no fight, not winning 2nd balls, no aggression, no composure. We basically have no football identity apart from parking the bus and kick and run. It's not just this season, we were quite basic last season at times as well.

I would love Potter but it would take him years to sort this squad out. There is also no chance he would come. We have acquired a lot of players that are quite average footballers at champ level. Our recruitment has been all over the place recently and feel like it changes each season and we are stuck with quite an odd mix of players. I would like Hecky to have more opportunity to sort things out 10-15 games (another 5-10 more) but if we are stuck on less than 3 points I think we need to strongly consider a change.

I don't know who the answer would be, I would love someone with a footballing philosophy such as Potter, Bielsa etc but I don't think we are an attractive opportunity for an ambitious manager right now. One thing I am certain on though is that Wilder should be an absolute no. Would be back to square 1 and watch this whole mess unfold again.

In a 442 our best centre backs are Anel and Trusty.

Both were available and neither was playing at centre back.

We've been told Anel can't play in the middle of the 3 when Egan is fit because Egan can't play on the right, yet he was on the right of a 2 in the second half yesterday?

We can only talk about systems so far, the rest is about selection and personnel.

If the response to McBurnie being banned is to bring Norwood in and shuffle everyone else around, we deserve everything we get.
