...then sourcing his replacement should have been priority number one. He was pivotal to our system. If the intention is for BW to compete for that role then fine, but that position should start every game from now on. Evans and Lundstram fight it out over who’s keeping Coutts seat warm. Personally I would go and get Freeman first thing Monday. Especially if he’s available for £3m.

Our best midfield for me is still Coutts, Fleck and Duffy. With Coutts out you just need to find 1 replacement, not swap it around with 2 changes.
If Duffy can't last a match, start him until he's tired out then replace him with Woodburn....or I would have said Holmes until he left on loan.
Maybe a replacement is still on the wanted list with Holmes having left.

I really hope so. I actually thought Swansea were hurting us with players similar to Holmes - small, quick over ten yards, first thought is forward and positive. In essence, everything our midfield wasn’t. Holmes/Duffy would have caused them issues today. Luckily for them, we continue to deploy 2 of the slowest CMs in the league, with the turning circles of a P&O ferry.

Can we tighten the bolts on Basham’s legs just so I’m not reminded of Bamby slipping on ice, or Bamby’s mum dying, then by association of thoughts, every Disney death scene. Although come to think of it, Sleeping Beauty and Dumbo seem appropriate descriptions of our central midfield tonight...

Duffy was reassuringly progressive in his game yet again, which is why intelligent people named him player of the season. I feel I'll be defending him all season.

His first thoughts are usually:
“Can I take someone on?”
“Can i pass into a strikers feet?”
“Is someone making a run in behind I can pass to”
“Can I shoot?”

His mindset alone makes things happen. He gives the opposition defence the jitters in a way that the others don’t.
