Idiotic Blades fans

I'm sure the club jointly with the Police, could easily identify the people from You Tube footage, CCTV and Police hand held surveillance, who act inappropriately at away grounds. But it strikes me that they can't be arsed?

Ban half a dozen and the rest would soon calm down. But taking the fighting at Wembley as an example, who, if any, of the several faces on the front of The Star actually ended up stood in the dock?

My guess would be zero

Which Leeds match is it you're referring too ? I can remember Birmingham fans firing distress flares into the old John Street but not Leeds fans doing similar into the south stand with smoke bombs .
I remember the Leeds game where our fans fired them (flares) from the south stand at the Leeds fans

This thread just makes me wish that I supported someone soulless like Reading or MK. :(

NO LITTLE PLASTIC CLAPPER THINGS - NO PARTY!!!

I'm not going to beat about the bush, i can be a nob head along with many people on this planet, the thing is though that many nob heads have this thing called nouse and common sense, some don't for unknown reasons.

All i'll say is don't let the cunts put you off going to games otherwise they'll have won.

What a day yesterday was, along with every other away day.

I was at that game .

What I'm trying to recall is a night match at the Lane where they've thrown smoke bombs in to the south stand .

There was a cup game in the late 70's when we lost 4-1 and TC played for them . And there was a night match in the 80's where we also lost 2-1 with Snodin scoring a very good goal for them . Then there was the worthy cup game that's been mentioned but I can't recall another night match against them when they threw smoke bombs into the south stand ..... seats , yes , but no smoke bombs .

The only time I can ever recall something like that at the lane was Birmingham City in the mid 80,s when they fired flares into the John street , they'd also been at it in town earlier aswell .

It has happened a few times at the lane when it's us that's done it though .

A game with Derby springs to mind ( also in the 80's ) but my memory is a little hazy here and I think it was Blades that fired them into Derby fans . I could be wrong though .

it's a criminal offence. Naming and shaming is the least that should happen. He/she needs to be banned. If it was my kid who was at the receiving end of the flare I would insist on prosecution.

Good luck young 'un - hope you make a complete recovery

There was no 'young 'un' involved. Everybody who was present knows this.

Throwing a flare into a populated area is plain stupidity on any level, if somebody had been injured whether it was a child , adult or teenager it is still stupidity and should be recognized as that not excused IMO

To be fair Derry , I don't think anyone is trying to excuse it . A lot of the discussion here appears to be around the use of smoke cannisters and flares etc at football matches . Their use is of course a clear breach of regulations and there's quite clearly an issue when these things are in the wrong hands .

Fact is some were looking at how or why we would fail to get promotion when so far ahead of teams below us, well people look no further than the stupid tw@s throwing smoke bombs etc into home fans areas, I'm fully expecting an away fan ban either vs MK or a few games next season OR a points deduction of say 30 points and if that happens you honestly believe players or management will stick around after that kick in the nads?
Well done you moronic cretins, your club loves you.
Thought we had learned after throwing a flare into the BL stand few seasons ago, I guess not.

Getting deducted 30 points because of a fan having a smoke cannister seems a tad excessive.

You're not the man who used to stand on Bramall Lane carrying a "The End of the World is nigh" placard are you?

No but I have been a blade long enough to know excessive or not after the wet sham bollox anything is possible when it concerns my Blades.
Are you the guy that thinks the FA and all governments are fair minded and unbiased towards all people ?

I'm with Tyler Durden on this, there is no chance any children could possibly have been hit. That area was exclusively filled with an array of idiots. All were above 'child age' it's fake news. I don't condone the lobbing of smoke bombs but if a zone of nobheads was there to lob one in to, this was it

My point wasn't about smoke bombs, more about the potential for carnage in big crowds with inadequate security. That said, as widely pointed out elsewhere, (a) unlike other countries we have supporters too thick or self-obsessed to use them safely, as attested by (b) plenty of reports on here about kids, asthmatics, and others paying to watch football and finding themselves in dangerous and terrifying circumstances because some twat has smoke-bombed them.

If we can't use em without endangering our own with crass and self-absorbed stupidity, let's not use em.

Agree with this, although it has made me change my matchday routine in case laddo gets caught near the smoke bombs. If people who want to set them off just used a bit of sense, and actually threw them on the pitch, things would be better. I'll even not bother to go for a piss/food at halftime so you can throw them in the concourse areas. Just not in the stands or pre match pubs, eh?

Port Vale was a joke. There were around 150 utter fucking walking abortions all spawned from the same **** cunt flids who spent 90 minutes mouthing illiterate bollox and waving their deformed limbs at Blades fans.
Letting them all through the gate would have been a humanitarian mercy as they could all have been kicked the fuck to death thus ridding the area of any possibility of the gene pool being lowered below the level of a single fucking celled ameoba.

Thank you . if you saw this happening would you report them or turn the other cheek . Come on be honest .

Do gooders usually do fuck all

This is a question I've had to ask myself. The answer is no. I'd rather humbly ask that common sense be applied in the use of smoke bombs, and for an informal code of conduct to be established between those using them. They can be used allied with common sense. They will always provide difficulties, and mean I have to adapt (or compromise) in some ways. I'm against the sterilisation and gentrification of football generally. I'm also pro safe standing etc, so I may not be representative. of people who have concerns re smoke bombs.

I'm 100% in favour of getting the fuck on with life.

LOL. How long have you gone to matches? How many deaths have you seen or been aware of excluding Hillsbro,Ibrox,Birmingham and Heysel?

Bradford ?

I've took my lad out of Oakwell on a stretcher, because someone thought it was clever to lob a smoke bomb. There are people with worse breathing problems than him. People used to police their own. Not anymore. Anything goes. Should I have to stop taking him? Already adapted as much as possible.

Very sorry to hear that and feel for you as a parent.
I think it's got worse.
Used to be a ruck. Now it's morons on puff and blow like at Port Vale yesterday. If your kid had been in the concourse at HT he may well have been in serious reouble due to the bombs let off in a confined space.
All that said I am against the pathetic over regulation on so many things re football, like standing, flags, movement and general ability to enjoy the experience without some dick jobsworth interfearing.

There was also a Swansea fan trampled to death at Millmoor.

Forgot that one. But there was that old bloke had a stroke at Accrington, the old bird with the ingrowing toenails at Blyth Spartans, the dog run over by a sub warming up at Plymouth and probably me at The Lane with a heart attack at some point.
Suck it the fuck up.

That's what I hate about the whole European obsession with pyro displays . Basically they are condoned by the club and police/regulatory bodies which translated means you'll express your love of ' our ' club when we say , where we say and how we say .

As for bringing and using flares and smoke cannisters etc I've never had a problem with it . But I'd never realised they posed such a problem to fans with breathing difficulties . For me they used to be a big ' fuck off ' to the authorities who'd banned them as they couldn't control them . I also loved the spontaneity their use embraced . Now I'm not so sure .

We're on the same page. I'm not anti smoke bombs or into spoiling young uns fun. Read bottom of post 349 again - I think you'll see that we see things much the same way (probably didn't have to fall out!). I could have made a big deal out of the situation at Oakwell but kept my gob shut. Compromised. Just made sure I'm not in the way off the smoke bombs. I take lad for a piss before half time, all that jazz. Just wish they'd bang their heads together about what the best time and place to chuck em is, really. Please accept my apology for calling you a prick. Might be my first sending off?
