Build a team around existing younger players - iliman, brewster, bogle, lowe, anel and jebbison and see if we can nab both Doyle and McAtee, buy a PL standard CB, midfielders, and a striker to stay up short term

and then play the long game and sell younger players at their peaks, rebuild the squad and infrastructure with the player sales, aka a sustainable football club

Unfortunately, if you want any decent measure of success these days, it seems the only way is to have an owner that is absolutely minted.

Even to dream of winning a cup, it's normally 2 teams from the same old top 6 or 7 who normally end up contesting the final. You get the odd oddity like Wigan or Brum in recent(ish) years but not very often. Look at the League Cup this year, Newcastle have suddenly sprung into the final just after becoming the richest club in the world (based on ownership) and that's not even to mention their sudden resurgence as a league challenger.

As long as we don't get completely rebranded, moved to some dustbowel in Attercliffe, and become a hunting ground for greedy agents and lazy players, then I am not too fussed about the fixtures and fittings being changed.

Besides anyway, we still have no idea who the new owner is, and they may not have anything like the wealth needed.

I’d be happy with just staying up next season (if we go up) and having the ground/academy/training ground all brought into 2023. The off field stuff personally makes me as excited as the on field stuff.
