Peter Boyle tough tackling left back 150 appearances. Played in 3 FA Cup finals winning 2 1899 and 1902 losing to non league Spurs in 1901. Not part of the Invincibles team who won the league in 1898 as joined season after we won it but finished runners up in his first season 1899.

Came to us from Sunderland who along with ourselves, Villa, West Brom and Blackburn were the leading forces in English football at the time. Fiery character who fell out with club when they wouldn't award him a benefit and left in 1904.
