I love Wilder but

About as well thought through as your suggestion that Wilder should leave the club
Why then biggest Blade in the worldCome on we are playing absolute dog shit with crap players that have cost over 60 million. Wilder is the man who got these in and sorts the team and tactics. This is the Premier league as he says. Well look at how teams play and the players in it. We have not got one technical player in the team, not one creative player in the team and 40 million quids worth of strikers one can’t do it for Scotland and one who has not had the experience of premier league football so it could take all season for him to get going.

Only players Egan and Basham would be in my prem team.

You need to get a reality check. If CW doesn't change things, we're going down. Madness to keep doing the same things over and over. I'm not going to start trading insults. It's my view and after being a Blade for 42yrs and spending thousands on my club, I'm entitled to it.

If we go down so be it , cant see another manager getting more out of these players than Wilder
It is madness to keep doing the same thing over and over remember we had four managers in one season and still went down. We appointed Robson, we appointed Adkins. Wilder is an excellent manager his peers voted him Manager of the season in front of Klopp in our promotion season, he came 2nd last season
Do you actually believe sacking Wilder will save us from the drop ?
The alternatives to Wilder you have put forward in Allardyce and Howe are not improvements on the current manager. As has been pointed out Howe ended up getting relegated with Bournemouth who had a significant bigger budget than we have at BDTBL
If as you say youve been a Blade for over 40 years youve been through the shit times do you really want to go all the way back down to L1. Wilder is the best manager weve had since Harris in my lifetime it would be ludicrous to sack him as if we do go down he would be the best manager to get us back to the PL

Wilder got us to the Premier League or have you forgotten that little snippet, hes earned the right to manage us here and if we do get relegated the right to take us back up
Only Egan and Basham would be in your Prem team ? Who would be the other nine then ?

Who the actual fuck do you think you are to set a date by which he has to have improved or go? Making decisions for a PL football team. with 30"000 fans.
Get to fuck.
And who are you to think otherwise? So you're always right are you? Are you incapable of writing a post without swearing? I'm certainly not the only one who thinks a change might be right if we're still bottom in January.

No. You’re not the only arm chair manager who thinks he knows better than an actual, real successful manager.

I don't want Wilder to go, but it is very depressing that anyone who makes the very obvious and well established point that managers tend to live or die based on results, gets rounded upon and branded all manner of expletives.

Wilder himself would be the first to admit that no manager is bullet proof and has reminded us all numerous times that he doesn't care what happened in the past, it's what happens now.

We should be able to have a reasoned discussion, about the very real possibility that the owner could pull the trigger, if things don't pick up.

A different nine made up players who can pass the ball and pass it forward. Players who can run with the ball and create. We have no chance of getting players like that because he wasted the money on players who are not good enough.
Oh and I am fully aware of what Wilder has done. It’s been amazing but he is failing to make us that stable Premier league club we all hoped we’d be after last season.

So who are these players ?
Name them within our budget

If the club sack Wilder, I'll be hugely disappointed.

I went to my first game in 1976, and prior to the last 12 matches, this is consistently the best team, playing the best football I have ever watched at BDTBL.

Massive credit to CWAK for that.

We need to give him time to puzzle this out, he deserves that. If it's the rest of this season and next, and we get relegated during this time, so be it. He deserves that time.

If he leaves we will spend years trying to replicate what he's created, and the world of pain that goes with it.

Knee jerk is less than 10 games. Knee jerk in Wilders case is anything less than a season.

He's taking time to work this conundrum out, but he'll get there, you'll see.

I saw it somewhere else but if we were to get relegated (and it could well happen, make no bones about it), which manager could you appoint to give you the best chance of success of promotion?

It’s Chris Wilder.

If we go down, so be it - we’d be coming back a hell of a lot stronger in terms of squad, infrastructure & finances. No given that you get promoted but few teams have gone up and established themselves at the first attempt. Stick to the long term plan and show some trust in the process that got you there. This season may end up being painful to watch but I’m with them all the way, the good times have far outweighed the bad and they (players & manager) deserve our support.

If you want to see what a clusterfuck of short term decisions can do for a club then look no further than post-2007 and a subsequent slide to obscurity for your evidence. The club is in good hands and we’re now in a 10x better position than we have been as a club for a long while. It’s difficult for fans to see the bigger picture sometimes and we all want SUFC to be mixing it in the Prem year on year. Fact is that we’re a mid-sized club that needs to have a lot going for it to punch to a mid/lower Prem finish - I feel that we’re on a path that’ll see us do that in the mid term so let’s get behind the fuckers and see if we can get a few wins under our belt before we do need to accept our fate.

A reasoned reply to the OP, not that hard was it lads and lasses.

This thread will result in loads of bans and for what? Someone suggesting Wilder might go in January if results don’t pick up? I’m struggling to see why this opinion has seen so much vile to be honest, pathetic from some so called Blades. Some really angry and childish Blades.

Very good post by the way.

Finally some sanity and a reasoned argument. I understand that the majority think CW should have the whole season. I just disagree but didn't expect all the ensuing insults. UTB

Thank you very much. Have a like. 😁

Said it loads before but this place easily becomes an echo chamber, but what's worse is the North Korea style defence of said echo chamber

You my friend can have a million likes for this! I know we had some idiots in our fan base but this has shown it up even more. Why don’t everyone who is stupid enough to want Wilder out create your own thread and you can talk shit to each other to your hearts content!
Yeah fair enough but you'll be popping up on it spouting vitriol it's a forum

I was watching something about Sunderland's prospective buyer. View attachment 98709
He might be a strange looking fella but he was apparently on QPR's books at one time and has hooked up with both HAAS F1 team and has a superbike team with his company's logo on it. To my point- He mentioned that he was looking for a manager like Clough (senior) who speaks his mind and can take a club quickly through the divisions to the prem (remind you of anyone?). CW has been linked with Sunderland before, if he is pissed off enough and this fella can tempt him (with big money) he could just go. So my take on this is that Chris Wilder has done enough and proved enough to back him for the long term to get this club where Chris wants it to be.
We went to shit after we lost Bassett and even though in the long run (very long run 'til Wilder came) it is better without Warnock we had a hell of a rough time after he left. FFS do not chase out the best manager I have experienced in over 50 years as a blade. Bassett was a great manager but Wilder plays far superior football and brings the whole club together. So if through different circumstances we can't stay up look at the Championship with Norwich and Bournemouth at the top and Watford in play off spots. He will do the business and bring us back up. If we don't back him there is a hairy bloke in the North East who will.

This ⬆️

This should be projected in foot high letters on the side of Bramall Lane:

"If we don't back him as fans or as a club this beardo weirdo at Sunderland will snap his hands off and then we will lose him for good."

As a hated glory seeker I think we should stick with wilder. Coming back into the PL re sparked my interest in the blades hugely (not massively), covid & 25 frames per second now TV deals meant Ive been able to watch many more games than I would’ve done.

If we can’t survive like Villa let’s hope we bounce back up again the next season or the one after. With wilder!

The club will have more money & fans back ringside post vaccine should help, Norwich & WBA have done this quite a bit. WBA looked v decent against Man U though which is worrying!!
