I love Wilder but

If Wilder were to leave in a matter of months, who would the OP consider a worthy replacement?

The absence of thinking this through should be consigned to a small dark hole.

A second season in England's top division, and although I'd support your right to comment on Wilder and the lack of results, I'm sure the time to reflect and consider has been ongoing for some time. No excuses, but seriously, who would the OP consider as a worthy successor? And should the new guy have a brief flurry of success, would you then turn on the new manager when things turn sour?

He's already said. Big Sam.

Sir Alex Ferguson, the greatest manager of a generation, didn’t enjoy instant success at Manchester United. Far from it. But that club (at a time when they had more integrity) backed him for the long term and it turned out alright for them.

Wilder has been consistently proving his ability throughout his career. I have posted elsewhere that it is ok to question our current situation.. but in doing do, we really need to have a broader perspective.

Sack Wilder? Nuts.

he's not bigger than the club. If things haven't improved by New Year's Day then he has to go. I hope it doesn't come to that.

And replace him with who pray tell......??

Keep seeing all these posts on here and other platforms saying he should go now/in 5 games/by Christmas/New Year etc but i haven't seen a single credible suggestion as to who should replace him...

Look at Norwich..... Farke hasn't had the success of CW, they were poor last year, have gone down and are now top of the Championship again and could come back even stronger.....CW has got us promoted twice on 4 seasons and then a top 10 finish in the best league in the world.....who is available to come in and better that?

I don’t mind the odd rant here and there, fair weather fans have always been a part of football.
It’s the shameful lack of loyalty, the inability to think long term the sheer short sightedness, the memories like gold fish that these Wilder out
merchants possess that is absolutely bloody astounding............and fuckin embarrassing!

If the prince brought big Sam in to replace wilder then that is me done. It would be mega flounce.

That’s no season tickets, shirts, other merchandise or nasty kiosk beer purchased over the next couple of decades.

P. S. What a cretinous, odious bag of lice infested dog shit this thread is.

You're trying to tell me that if a bigger club came in for Wilder offering to double his wages then he wouldn't walk. Course he would. Loyalty doesn't come in to it. At the moment he's doing the same thing week in week out and getting the same results. How long would you give him? Bet you'd be at the front of the queue slagging him off if we're still bottom in April

I was watching something about Sunderland's prospective buyer. 1606150029091.png
He might be a strange looking fella but he was apparently on QPR's books at one time and has hooked up with both HAAS F1 team and has a superbike team with his company's logo on it. To my point- He mentioned that he was looking for a manager like Clough (senior) who speaks his mind and can take a club quickly through the divisions to the prem (remind you of anyone?). CW has been linked with Sunderland before, if he is pissed off enough and this fella can tempt him (with big money) he could just go. So my take on this is that Chris Wilder has done enough and proved enough to back him for the long term to get this club where Chris wants it to be. If we don't back him as fans or as a club this beardo weirdo at Sunderland will snap his hands off and then we will lose him for good.
We went to shit after we lost Bassett and even though in the long run (very long run 'til Wilder came) it is better without Warnock we had a hell of a rough time after he left. FFS do not chase out the best manager I have experienced in over 50 years as a blade. Bassett was a great manager but Wilder plays far superior football and brings the whole club together. So if through different circumstances we can't stay up look at the Championship with Norwich and Bournemouth at the top and Watford in play off spots. He will do the business and bring us back up. If we don't back him there is a hairy bloke in the North East who will.

Chris, mate, get medical help asap, you’ve lost it....the only remnant of your brain is the ability to talk total bollocks

In some respects its lucky theres no crowds at matches at the minute as this 'division' between the fans (even if it is 95%/5%) is reminiscent of what happened under Bassett when there was fisticuffs in the away end a number of times between pro and anti Bassett 'supporters'
