I bet Duffs is pissed off!

So is he injured? If not he must be well fucked off. What has he done wrong to lose his place in the team? Player of the season for me , especially since the Coutts injury where he has taken most games by the scruff of the neck.

So with Villa getting on top in the second half, Chris decides to take Leonard off and brings on Lundstram instead of Duffy. That was mind boggling and was greeted by "What the fucks he doing" by everyone around me. That substitution was probably the worst of Wilders changes this season.

Wilder had the chance to resurrect the midfield engine room with Evans slotting in nicely for Couuts with Fleck and Duffy but instead went for Leonard who doesn't dictate play in the way that Duffy does.
Baffled by Wilders decision to leave arguably our best player out of the team.
Did you see Duffy on Saturday?

His passing radar and range were way off beam.

Picked some good balls as always but then passed it too long, too short, out of play, to them, etc etc.

He's a good player but maybe he does need a rest?

I did suggest that he may not be well on Saturday, maybe a nasty dose of newcontractitis? (that wasn't entirely serious for the more reactionary posters)

Why would Wilder, when playing against an international quality midfield of five, start Leonard (tall defensive midfielder) instead of Duffy (small attacking midfielder)?
Jump to the second half and Villa are having more possession and playing better with the score 0-0. How can we comprehend Wilder choosing to bring on Lundstram (tall defensive midfielder), it makes no sense!
To disagree is fine, but if you are baffled by this it says more about you than Wilder.
Baffled by the fact that he brought Lundstram on (tall defensive midfielder) who did not play that role when he came on. ................comprendo?

Lost count of the amount of times Wilson miscontrolled the ball last night, and I suppose being the league’s joint top scorer gives you a bit of credit in the bank when it comes to a decision who to take off. I don’t disagree with you though
Agree. Nothing stuck with Wilson. He's ok running onto the ball in space but he lost possession almost every time the ball was played to him. And he was in danger of getting sent off. After his yellow he did another tackle that could have been a booking.

As others have pointed out, Duffy was crap on Saturday so I'm not sure why he's suddenly the solution.

And I've yet to see anyone comment on how many times our moves broke down because of Basham. He's a good defender, did that side very well last night but he was poor in our attacking third. (It may have been mentioned, I haven't read all the threads yet).

We could have done with playing this game in a couple of weeks time when the.new players have settled in more. There wasn't the 'telepathic' understanding that Coutts/Fleck/Duffy had from playing a lot together and we didn't have anyone who could do a bit of magic in the final third, it was a bit workmanlike. That's what you need at the top of this league, in games like this. We huffed and puffed but lacked a bit of guile.

We’re lacking the ability to get the ball in the net. Getting it to the area we can do. But of target practice before the weekend and we’ll beat Wolves. UTB. (Ever the optimist)

He is a tall defensive midfielder, regardless of the role he played.
The role he played was the same role and position Leonard played. That role and position is different to the one Duffy would've played.

I really want to see Duffy, Fleck and Lee Evans in the midfield. Evans looks class, and can fill that Coutts role nicely. Getting back to a holy trinity seems the sensible approach to me.

have any of our fans heard the word squad mentioned in football before

first fans scream for strength in depth , then when its utilised , if we dont win its all CW s fault

It's all about the next stage of the rise of the club and even the stage after that.

Wilder probably thinks Holmes is better and younger, in fact he's 2 years younger.

You are bothered about missing Duffy now. wilder is bothered about the Premier League in 18 months time. It's called a plan. One step back and two forwards.
