Sky also mentioned Kyle Hutton (I think) from Rangers as well. Also on loan. Know nothing about them, but Sky reporter seems to rate them. Not sure deal 100% completed in time yet though either as was done very late.

fleck has the number ten shirt for rangers so must be rated. Their number 19 looked familar as well

Knowing United it will probably be Roberta Flack and Lauren Hutton....

Some Rangers' views:

Hutton is a decent all round midfielder, Fleck was tipped to be the next big thing when he was about 15 but has lost his way a bit. Still has potential and you can see he has something, but rarely shows it in games at the moment. Needs to be played just behind the striker though, not out wide!

Hutton Didn't look out of place making his debut against Man Utd. Good player, likes to pass and doesn't panic.

Fleck - loads of potential but hasn't shown it yet, should be played as a number 10, off the striker but doesn't get that chance here, usually stuck on the left wing but doesn't really have the pace for it. When he first broke through he was direct but Smith told him to work on defending first so kinda held him back

Fleck - Was meant to be the next big thing for us a couple year ago (still only 20 tbf) but hasn't been able to break into the first team yet. Attacking midfielder, prefers to play just behind the strikers apparently.

Hutton - More of a defensive midfielder and there's a general feeling he's better than most of our senior players and shouldn't be going out on loan. You've got a steal there.

Hutton is sounding better by the minute.

Hmmm. Potentially good additions but a bit short up front now, aren't we?

Is this true?

I just heard from skysportsnews that 2 players fom the SPL is going to Brammal Lane on Loan now does anybody else know about this?;

loan window opens soon though and there may be something like cresswell when he came ie on loan till Jan then signing

fleck to play just off cressy/porter? hutton in the middle with a fit monty?

Yes. Ignore the talent of McDonald and Williamson and play him with the usual plodding mediocrity! I despair (yet again)

Hutton is a defensive central midfielder. I would guess he's coming to replace The Maestro. I certainly hope so. The information from Scotland suggests he is a proper footballer. The laws of the game permit both central midfielders to have ability.

The beginning of the end?

Radio Sheffield now reporting these loans weren't completed in time and so we haven't signed them after all. Brilliant. Wonder if we can / will get them when loan Window opens?

God knows what's happening, Rangers are confirming it, the Scottish FA seem to have OK'd it yet we're officially saying nothing and Radio Sheffield say the deals are off. The fact the club haven't confirmed it would suggest the deals didn't go through but then again, they haven't confirmed Slew either.

I think the problem may be that we had to confirm a season long loan by the end of the transfer window and if we missed the deadline, we can only get them on 3 or 6 months deals. Then again, Scottish rules are slightly different I believe so again, God knows.

Quite poor communication on the clubs part really, these are the days when deals should be confirmed, as and when they're done, don't tweet or post something saying you'll give fans an update soon, then just leave it.

They were saying last night that the reason for the delays is that the FA only need 'intent to sign' confirmation by the deadline and details can still be thrashed out after 11 o'clock as we saw with Arshavin last season. Not too sure about that to be honest but it makes sense considering there's always a few deals you hear about the following morning that didn't get a mention at the deadline.

Blackburn are still apparently 'waiting for approval' on the Slew deal so we may be in the same boat.

Fair enough, I don't usually moan about this but generally the OS, whether that be the club or the people working on the site are pretty piss poor at updating us on players we have signed or released, sometimes it's been hours after all other sporting media outlets have reported the story, it's even been up to a day after. They could have simply worded the post better, 'We'll update you when confirmation arrives.' Looks like it'll be a little while before everythings confirmed.

I've seen it mentioned on Sky Sports News this morning that we have signed the pair.

Now on Rangers' site:

"Sheffield United have swooped to sign Rangers duo John Fleck and Kyle Hutton on season-long loans.

The midfield pair are highly rated with Fleck, in particular, tipped for a bright future at Ibrox. The duo represent a considerable coup for Blades boss Danny Wilson, who has already guided his new side to 13 points from their opening five npower League One games."

I'm hopeful that this is still an admin delay - Confirmation is still up on Rangers' website.
