Whilst he's a decent/good keeper at this level he makes too many costly errors. I know many are happy with him, and he's no Simmonsen, but we really need better if we're looking to the future.

That would be the keeper who saved us at Donny. There is no outstanding keeper in the division.

Disagree. He makes some errors but the problem is that our inability to score means that every mistake costs points.

That's a fair point but in the style Clough plays these errors have cost us several points this season.

If the season ended now then I imagine Howard would be up there with the challenges for Player Of The Season Award. There may have not been much competition but I don't think we will get much better than Howard at this level

Again, I agree with you (which says a lot about the rest of the team this season). The way Clough plays means that the defense and keeper needs to be almost error free. That puts a hell of a lot of pressure on both, and whilst Howard is a great shot-stopper he also drops some ricks. How many goals have we conceded this season due to either defensive or keeper error? Quite a lot.

I'll bump this, since I'm a cunt for having the ability to see a keeper isn't good enough. How many errors does he have to make?

I don't really rate him. Although tbf, I think most keepers would have a hard time at united (especially at this level). The keeper position is the one area we've been spoiled in over many, many, many years.

Kenny was decent but was still a downgrade from Kelly/Tracey (imho), still, his successors (not just Howard) make him look like Gordon Banks.

Howard is a bloody good goalkeeper . Any hesitation or mistakes , is mostly being created by a make shift back four .

Personally I would take him out for the last few games to ensure he is fit for the playoffs. He doesn't look fully mobile at the moment. I also would rest S Davies, Done, McEverley, (Suspect he's not playing to rest his shoulder), Kennedy and give Murphy a rest. Don't play Harris until the playoffs etc;

His form at the latter end of last season was great, he is carrying a back problem at the moment and I feel that has contributed to some of his mistakes recently, still a top keeper IMO.

If it wasn't for Howard we would have lost even more matches than we have I think. Goalkeepers errors tend to attract more attention than outfield players'. Beginning of the season he was keeping us afloat- 3 MoMs. There are other areas of the team in greater need of surgery but I think the spine of the side needs improving generally.

Howard is a good keeper at this level, the next level (whenever we get there), and if he hasn't retired by then, maybe even the level after that :)

I'd like to see him be more dominant and confident, show more of his personality but over all a good keeper.

When he first came back in last season, he was commanding and came and got everything. His shot stopping wasn't the best. That swapped round this season, up to the back injury. Rest needed

While he's made one or two errors, I think he's the best we've had since Paddy and he's made some great saves. Only gripe I have with him is his distribution. He can kick for miles but can't aim the damned thing! All round I think he's good for us. Rather him than Turner anyway!
