Two things:

Firstly, we need to understand there are far better options out there than Wilder, he’s yesterday’s news and his football is boring. So, let’s say he turns us around and 20 odd 1-0 scrapped wins later we go up, then what? We wouldn’t have a cat in hells chance of staying up, his brand of football would dictate this.

And secondly, surely he’s a proud man? Would you come back again after being sacked twice? Would be a weird feel around the club surely?

Time to move on from Wilder.

He would come back because of his ego, his paranoia (it's my club) with the blades and also to grab a few more million quid out of the club. We don't want you back!

Would the better options actually be able to come in quickly and shore things up?
If Chris Wilder is willing to come in and kick some arse sharpish then I am all for it. Yes, God forbid if we actually went up would Chris be the one to keep us in the prem, who knows, probably not, but, right now, we are so shite we could go down to league 1.
Any change will do, at least we know what Chris is about and it works in the championship.

Have you been on a 5 day bender ,?

Short term, a good move will guide us to at least mid table.
Long term is very much dependent on any other changes made backstage, if we just had him the reigns like his previous stint I think we'll never progress further than a mid table championship club, but honestly I think a lot of fans will be happy with that if it means wilder stays in charge as they can live their fantasies through him and have 'their club' back, so I guess it's a win win for most.

At the moment, we are bottom of the championship, having scored one goal and 12 goals against. Selles must go ASAP. The Owners want Chris Wilder back. That shows they admit they got it wrong sacking Him. That's if the rumours are correct. I will be happy if he comes back to steady the ship and salvage the season. I think the players will be delighted. They will all know what they are doing, and we can still challenge for automatic promotion UP THE BLADES.

He’ll have a reyt shock walking back into home dressing room. Hope he’s been keeping up his Duolingo subscription

I'm not sure who said it in a different thread. But I agree with their sentiment.

If a club can only progress under 1 manager then it shows something is fundamentally broken at the top.

Having to go back to the same manager for a 3rd time does come across a bit tin pot and one directional.

However in saying that... if it's between Selles and Wilder, it's Wilder all day long.

I'll caveat that by saying, if a DoF comes in (as being rumoured), and Wilder is under strict instruction to reign in the on the field fines as well as his off the field immature antics... then I'd probably just about give it a thumbs-up over other options.

There is only one choice, the blade, the legend, the terminator…….Chrissy Chrissy Chrissy Chrissy Robinson! Gerrim back asap!!

Maybe we just get him in as a sort of "Club Mascot/Motivator"? Comes to the training ground couple of times a week with a box of Madri, ruffles players hair, tells some jokes in the gym and slaps his badge a bit. He could even do some extended badge slapping at home games infront of the kop?

By law of averages we'll score points soon, then the deluded can start dreaming of promotion, good luck whoever gets the job utb

I said at the time of his sacking that l would have stuck with Chris although l understood those saying it was time for him to move on.

We’re rock bottom on zero points, heads are down, confidence is at its lowest ebb, If I was advising COH I’d say we need a steady hand to ensure we don’t run the risk of ending in league 1 again, I don’t think now’s the time to gamble on an unknown quantity.

I’m more than happy to have Wilder back in the dugout, I’d have been equally happy to see us approach Dyche. My biggest fear was a Steven Gerard type of appointment, nothing against him, he did a tidy job at Rangers, I’m just not for gambling the short and medium term future of the club.

I wasn’t looking forward to the last couple of matches, can’t wait for Saturday now, bring it on.

Time to move on from Wilder.

The football was boring (but still effective) for one season. It's was also fabulous for others. The idea that he's turned forever into a dull manager is a stretch.

And "far better options out there" - I'd like to see a list with a similar CV, not people who've done it for one year.

It's early in the voting, but a two thirds majority is good enough for me. No other likely manager will be universally wanted anyway, so that proportion is actually pretty good!

That seals it then. Phone him.

Now nearer to a three quarters majority. That's the highest approval rating we're going to get for any manager that's available to us.

I'd also bet my house on the fact that this majority is even larger for actual match going fans, and larger still for those that go to away games.

If there was any concern about the fans on the whole not wanting this, we can't probably now put that to bed. The problem is those that don't want him appear to be very vocal about it (on a message board at least).

Yes, in my view but I know some will never forgive him.
Not a case of forgiving him for me. He did a fantastic job first time and came close the second time.

I just think we needed to move on. It’s as though him and him alone is the only man who can manage us.

This is on Selles yes, but it’s on the players as well. Being not up to the job is one thing, downing tools is unforgivable.

Further to that, allegedly his beliefs didn’t align with the board, then there’s the embarrassing Sunday league-esque discipline.

Ultimately it doesn’t matter what I or anyone else thinks. It’s happening. The Selles experiment isn’t going to work. I think that’s something we can all agree on

Fabulous. If that's the limit of your expectations, then crack on, gerrim back
Let’s remember that we had a team being steamrolled every week in the prem. When we went down the majority of us thought we would end up mid table. He rebuilt a squad that challenged instantly for promotion. Yes it had its flaws and limitations but he did it in ONE transfer window with a few additions in January. True he made mistakes ( no RB and Cannon) but which manager doesn’t? The quality of the football wasn’t great at times but considering the turn around after relegation he did a bloody good job. The entertainment value could have been better I agree but some supporters can’t see that the turnaround in such a short space of time had us heading in the right direction when we least expected it
