We won’t last the pace (2017/18)

The essence of the argument is that even though it’s going OK at the moment, it will shortly go wrong. Coincidentally, this is exactly the opposite of what will happen to them. It has been going wrong, but now Tubby Bruce is there, it’s just a matter of time before it all turns around and up they go.

Bang on. No one starts supporting the Blades because they think we’re going to win trophies or because they genuinely think we’re one of the big boys, a sleeping Man U. You start going through family or mates or just curiosity and realise you want to be part of it.

In the nineties the pigs did indeed portray themselves as a proper big club based on their ‘history’ (compare their history with that of the clubs they think they’re rivals of and it just doesn’t stand up) and a couple of good seasons at the dawn of the PL era. They’re not, the glory seekers bought into the myth.

That was precisely my position.im from the dearne valley just outside Barnsley and started watching the blades in 88 . The pig fans over here have always been the same.it seems to be the older ones as well .don't get me wrong I'm not tarring them all with the same brush but rather than looking at things logically and looking at the facts regarding things like ffp for example, they just seem to be blinkered and think the rules are different to them.ive tried having conversations with a few regarding chancer and they still think he a life long fan and saviour of the club!

Likewise. The money would be any easy solution for our two owners’ fight and, assuming Wilder is still here to spend it, we should be able to invest it well enough to make sure we have five or so years at the level we are now or higher.

But apart from that, being a top championship club is great, we’re always on TV, the pundits love us, the football is good quality and the supporters feel connected to the club.

Wednesday were the fashionable club, in the early nineties, for the glory hunter that didn’t want to be too obvious about it.

After them it was Newcastle, who I keep hearing are also a massive club but can’t find any evidence, apart from a purple patch in the nineties, to back this up.

I know that but I used them as an example of the PL money myth. Clubs get all of this money for being there but then it has to be factored in the associated losses. The Blunts have been in the PL more recently than us but, in the end, that counted for nothing from a financial perspective. We should concentrate on what we can control. Learn from them and mount a promotion challenge on a realistic, sustainable budget.


This guy obviously hasn't noticed that us being in the premier league is one of the reasons were a bigger club than them now .maybe another visit could fund the ground developments thst could see us getting double their gates or even be the 3rd team in Sheffield to average over 30 thousand in a season since the 70's
