Firstly, fantastic evening and lovely achievement- and what a luxury to be up with 3 games to spare!

So how should we approach them? Firstly its worth noting EFL rules, as we don't want any point deductions:

"EFL regulations say full strength sides must be fielded in league matches.

The regulations also state that "from the fourth Thursday in March, any team sheet for a league game should include at least 10 outfield players who featured on the team sheet for the league game before". The team sheet includes substitutes"

For me:

- Billy Sharp should play every second of every game to give him every opportunity to reach the 250 goals milestone. If we get a penalty he'll take it, can even get him on freekicks as well.

- It would be nice if JOC was able to come on for the last minute of one of the games to get a rousing reception. However that may not be likely if it affects an alleged legal situation. Same with Brewster and RND.

- Berge and Ndiaye should not play at all. They are our two most valuable players and are out of contract at the end of next season. We'll either need to get a fee for them or rely on them heavily, we cannot afford any risk of them doing their ACL in etc or we are stuffed before we even start next season. The same could be argued regarding Doyle and McAtee, on the one hand City will want them to get games, on the other hand perhaps not if the matches are meaningless. Might be worth asking what they would like us to do.

- As pommpey said last night there are some players who need to pull their socks off and demonstrate that they can offer something next season. They should also play as much as possible, namely Lowe, Davies, Bogle, McBurnie, Fleck and Jebbison. Basham probably will be here next season but it would be good for him to play as well, possibly in place of Anel.

- Where we can within the rules, get as many youth players some minutes. Ball_Sup (Phil) any suggestions?

- If Huddersfield are safe on the final day, let Neil join in with our celebrations if he wants to. He is a Blade after all!

- Finally, even if Burnley get a points deduction which would mean we could still win the title, I wouldn't bother going all out to chase them down, its not worth it.

Anything else?

  • Play Sharp from the start
  • Bring Jebbo on to replace him
  • Lock Ndiaye in a cage so no one else can have him
  • JOC can't play because he's not in the 25 man squad

I think we can win 3 games so the rest needs to just stay as it's been for the rest of the season (apart from the bits where we went a bit shit for a few games).

Me personally would like us to really really play a huge part in relegating Neil warnock. Would be an extremely great night out next Thursday. Nothing against Huddersfield but that bloke has been one bitter prick since he left us. Definitely play fleck, Norwood, sharp and basham on Saturday. Been great for us but don't think any will be here next season, enda too if he's half fit.

We should play a strong side in the 3 games. Billy for Ollie is a given. Fleck and Enda as well for the service given over the years. I'd like to see Coulibally too. Let iliman and Sander warm the bench and appear for the last 15.

Burnley have already been exonerated - no punishment ! So we cant win the title ! but who cares ?

Seriously.

PNE and Hudds have stuff to play for. We owe it to their opponents.

We've complained in the past when others haven't taken it seriously or dropped a few main players.
We are allowed to rotate our squad. That's fully within the rules, as long as most are regular first team players.

No-one's saying we shouldn't take these games seriously or gift goals to the opposition. But it would be daft not to look at the big picture. Imagine if Ndiaye got crocked in a game with nothing at stake? These coming games are less important to us than the early rounds of the League Cup. Our team selection should be within the rules, but also reflect this.

Just play a full strength team. Winning is a habit which carries on into next season. No one needs resting for fear of injury. That can happen anytime. Every player has to earn the right to start. Fleck has not done that. There’s no room for sentimentality. The team which started last night should play the next three unless injured, they’ve earned it and will want to play.

We only named 23 players, so JOC could be added if needs be.

It's interesting that our second top scorer, only behind the best player to ever play for us, apparently has something to prove just to stay in the building next season!

The club have an option of an extra year and even if it doesn't work out for him at a higher level, the club will protect its asset and any value that can be recouped in the transfer window(s).

He's not going to be released on a free just because some fans don't like him / don't get him.

The door is closed for Fleck. He's done at this level, never mind the PL. An absolute legend and will never buy a drink in half of Sheffield, but he's not part of the future starting now.

Same goes for Norwood imo. A tougher call but all the evidence is there. If his contract wasn't up I don't think he'd be a cert for leaving but it is and there isn't an argument to extend it.

We'll look for a new goalkeeper so that'll push Davies to 3rd, maybe 4th choice depending on Amissah. He'll want to play so GLTTL.

Jebbison and Bogle both have high ceilings and will be considered big assets either to contribute to our team or for transfer value. Again, some fans need to realise that you don't release valuable players on the basis that they're not currently reaching their potential. The notion that either of these two has to prove they're worth a squad number is a joke.

The only player on that list this really applies to is Lowe, but his contract isn't up.

I think Norwood will be fine if we're playing 3-4-2-1, but not 3-5-2.

Keeping within the rules over the course of the next 3 games we do need to blend in the likes of Coulibaly, Blaster & Brooke (not together of course) amongst midfield plus Jebbo & a look at Osula up front. This gives us a real chance to assess their level for next season development (Champ or L1).

Enda, Fleck etc can come off the bench for Lane farewells.

What a great performance by everyone this season.

We have achieved maximum points so we don’t need to win another game. But weʼll be buzzing as well as some tired legs from a lot of games.

We have to keep the majority of the starting 11 in the match day squad so let’s bring in players from last nights bench (especially Jebbo)for Saturday, bring the likes of Osula, Arblaster and Coulibaly onto the bench, they then get a start v Huddersfield.

Best side to play final game away at Birmingham…

Ok, I had the 4th Thursday in March in my head...Maybe that's just something at grass roots.

No, you're right.

"Where any new registration or transfer of a Player is received by The League after 5pm on the fourth Thursday in March in each Season, that Player will not be eligible to play in any match organised by The League in that Season, except as permitted in Regulation 57."

57 doesn't apply in this case.

Play our strongest team let's get 9 more points on the board finish the season in style (I know we're up but keep winning). Make changes early in the games to get the fringe lads game time oh and Burnley have no case to answer.
