I've been at work tonight, and had a decent football chat with one of the fitters, who has been watching Notts County for 50 odd years, does some scouting, and knows the game inside out..

Been chatting and comparing the teams we have seen, and what we reckon.

His opinion has been that the Blades have been far and away the best team he has seen this season. He rated their performance at Bramall Lane as one of the best away performances they have turned in this year, but didn't win because we was a lot better side. At Meadow Lane he said we was a joy to watch despite Notts getting beaten, as in his words, you don't get many teams who get the ball down and play good football in this Division, and our brand of football is amongst the best he has seen in the last few years.

Asked him about the other clubs, and he didn't see what the fuss was about with Charlton as they was very average against Notts, he thought Huddersfield looked poor and tossed away a 2 goal lead at their place, and he said that Sheffield Wednesday are nothing but a physical bully boy team, who bully their way to points rather than playing any sort of football.

Asking him our remaining fixtures he thought that Leyton Orient would be a tough one, and Stevenage would be a physical team and hard to break down, and didn't rate MK Dons, and thinks we should get something at Exeter.

On the play-offs, if Notts get in to the play offs, the one team they don't want to play is us, as in this division we are the team he rates, but anyone else they would stand a chance against.

It's nice to hear a lot of positive stuff said about us, although one thing i will never really agree with him on is Warnock.

I was in the company of some Huddersfield fans and they we're all of the opinion that we are the best team they have seen this season
I have also noticed from reading the how others see us thread on bladesmad that nearly all fans of teams we play are complimentary to us and in particular to the fan base

Contrast this to the Massive and their belittling of every other club in the world as " tinpot" and it's easy to see why they are despised for their arrogance and misplaced delusions
Their team are often referred to as physical bully boy hoofers but the MASSIVE just see this as jealousy
Anyway it's good to see us starting to change our reputation a bit lets hope we carry it on in the championship next season

I was in Barcelona once and a barman told me that a group of Brazilians watching us in the pub on Sky had said we were one of the best sides theyd seen. True story.

Maybe the Brazilians were just humouring you.

What i've posted is what i've been told by an experienced, knowledgable judge of football and thought it may have been of interest.

I was in a bar with Lionel Messi s father and he said hed seen us play and he wishes his son hadnt rushed into signing for Barca now, another true story

He's talking out of his arse there. Every side I've seen this season has played good football apart from Stevenage and the pigs.

I was in a bar once with someone who knew Pele. He asked Pele who he thought was one of the greatest players was - his answer - George Best.

Preston ??

Hmmm, but that's one man's effect on both teams. I take your point though.

Not at bdtbl they haven't

I'd have to disagree. I think the majority of teams to come to the Lane have got it down on the floor and passed it, more so than Championship sides did. Orient certainly played it on the floor today, and if anything, it was us who went more direct in the first half especially.
