How much is Billy Sharp worth?

Genuinely reminds me of Aritz Aduriz of Bilbao (still playing at 37).

Oh to see Billy score a play off final winning penalty this season...

Billy is the player who the opposition fans fear and take the piss with their chants about him being fat. He goes on and scores and they aren’t bouncing any more. He’s up there with the best strikers I have seen at the Lane from Doc Pace onwards. Unfortunately in the past if they showed prowess in front of goal we sold them.

I think Billy's game depends on how lenient the ref is. If Billy is allowed to back into his marker when the ball is hit up high to him then he's in for a good game. He's so good at it but if the ref is finniky then it becomes frustrating for him.

Love it when he gives it back to the fat bastard jibes - nearly as much as he does :)
When the oppo fans abuse him you know it makes him more determined :)

Billy Sharp = 100% legend.

McCabe exceeded even himself with Billy. He sold him twice.

Listen to fans up and down the country whenever the transfer window's coming up and you hear the phrase "What we need is someone who can stick the ball in the back of the net". Pace, power, flair, are all great attributes for a striker but nothing matters to a team that doesn't convert their possession into chances and their chances into goals.

I remember being excited about Adkins coming in (called that one wrong...) and even more so when he brought Sharp in. Never been a player I've wanted to succeed for us more than Sharp. Even under the abject football of Nigel it was clear that Billy was too good for that level by far.

Billy rescued us when we were struggling in League One and he fired us to a title win. For him to still be firing the goals in in the Championship is the story he deserves. Great player.

The amount of money to take him away from us would be obscene to the point that no one would ever contemplate it for a 32 year old.

We`ve got Billy Sharp, Billy Sharp, Billy Sharp !!!

Get in there Billy Lad

The ref was a cunt today and Billy scored two. Your theory is fucked pal.

How much is he worth? Depends on who's asking I suspect. I can imagine the lower end PL teams (especially Huddersfield, given their proximity) may be watching him very closely with an eye on a January bid. What works in our favour is his clear and obvious love of the club, and how much he must be enjoying knocking in the goals that are keeping his boyhood team challenging at the right end of the table.

If he were to go to, say, Hudds in january, what's he got to look forward to? Half a season of struggle, maybe he scores the goals that keep them up, in which case he's then sacked off when they spend big in summer, and out of work again. Alternatively, he stays here, and maybe, just maybe, finishes the season on 25+ goals as the team he's loved all his life complete an unlikely promotion.

All hypothetical I know, but I really can't see why he'd want to go to any team that might try and sign him. To us, he is priceless...he's a Blades legend already and can only continue to add to his status here. If we achieve the unbelievable and go up this year, then he needs a statue outside the lane and his name on a stand.

Billy has been priceless to us the last few seasons. Both him and Wilder have been at the centre of the upturn in fortunes at our club, epitimising everything we are all about.

I'm glad he has proved the doubters wrong.

He's a legend

Billy Sharp, Billy Sharp shaking off your men
Billy Sharp he's found the net again
Makes the Lane sing
Goal scoring King
Billy Sharp, Billy Sharp, Billy Sharp

To the tune of Robin Hood

OK - realistically..... given that Jordan Rhodes was 10 million and he does sweet F'all apart from his fox in the box trick, then you'd need another one to run around and make other contributions normally expected of a striker, so we have to conclude a valuation of around 20 million.

That Ronaldo bloke is 33. Another one who’s fat and over the hill.
